Audio glitches during playback

Hello i'm new to this forum and the wonderfull program hoster. I've learned a lot of things off this forum and i'm now asking for help with this minor audio glitches during playback.

I've stopped many back grounds processes but have not been able to resolve the problem.

I'm using Hoster v2.127 and my souncard is Conexant AMC.

What I mean with audio glitches is that while playing back i see
the mouse blinking which means that the computer is doing something in the back ground....

my pc specs are as follow:

Compaq Presario 2500
Pentium 4 2.4 Ghz
1 Gb ddr sdram@pc2100
60 Gb Hard Drive...etc..
