![]() I have approximately 12,000 MP3+CDG tracks on my hard drive. Is there any way that I can add them to Hoster 3.0 in a batch?
So far I have not found a way. Please advise if there is with a step by step procedure. ![]() |

Re: Hard Drive Directory of MP3+ CDG
You cannot add MP3 files into Hoster's Songs Database.
You can play MP3's by selecting the MP3 button and directing Hoster to the path to the track you wish to add to the Playlist. The track will not be saved in Hoster Songbook..Detailed directions are in the Hoster manual. Hope this helps, George |

![]() If it won't be possible to search for mp3+g's in the Hoster database, are there any plans to add search facilites i.e. wildcard, etc to enable us to locate a particular mp3+g track to add to the Hoster playlist ?

Re: Hard Drive Directory of MP3+ CDG
Adding MP3 and MP3+G was a major upgrade. Currently, you must manually find the file you want.
Now that you have these, tell us what you want us to do... and preferably how you want to do it. We will consider all suggestions. ![]() Please make any new suggestions in the Hoster New Feature Request Forum. They will be lost if you post them here. |

Re: Hard Drive Directory of MP3+ CDG
Part of the problem is that MP3+G files are named in various ways. Also, the Song Parameters we provide you in Hoster's KMA file header (song and artist names, language, genre, duet, multiplex) are not available in MP3+G songs, or are in random order that we can't automatically know where to find them. In essence, you will have to do a LOT of manual identification of MP3+G songs before we can put them into any type of database that you can search.
We are looking for your input as to how your MP3+G files are currently named, what "fields" of data are present, where they are found (filename and/or ID3 header and its format), and what delimiter is used between the "fields" of data. If there is no consistent "field" pattern, there is nothing we can do to automate indexing of multiple fields of data without your manually doing it. To our knowledge, there was no standard way to identify MP3+G files, as this evolved out of the "crack" sites for illegal distribution of CDG songs. Thus, no standard was evolved. We are considering creating an index of identified drives/folders for MP3 and MP3+G songs. That may be the only thing we can do without you spending LARGE amounts of time to clean up your existing MP3+G files so they can be logged into a database like Hoster's Songs Database. |

Re: Hard Drive Directory of MP3+ CDG
Not using Mp3+g files, you could follow the patterning I use on my mp3's (tho still time consuming.
I have a directory named artists. under this directory I have folders named for the artists ie: Alabama Blood Sweat and Tears and so on in each of the folder I put the songs by that artist and they are named by the song title. that would be easy for a program to pick up and set up a structure for. |

![]() It would be very nice to have the same feature that is available in the Real Player, ie there is an advanced command which will read the Tag in the mp3 file, then Real Player will create subdirectories as is necessary. With my mp3 files, I have them organized by Artist, then by Album. It does this in a batch mode.
With 12,000+ cuts of karaoke music, I will not live long enough to add them individually into directories and subdirectories. Also in Musicmatch, one is able to correctly tag cuts vis-a-vis their look up db. I would think this feature would be a good one also. |
