cd+g to kma

First time on this board.

Question for you all: I have 10,000 cd+g files. I want to use Hoster. My ? is, how can I convert the cd+g files to kma. I also saved the bin files in case I need them.

Also I have my songs labeled by numbers: 560-2 disc 560 song number 2. So will Hoster allow me to type in 560-2 and have that song come up ?

thanks in advance

It might be a good idea to read the manual under importing cdg's before you start it will save you some headaches later.
Clue: if your disks are consecutively numbered , the import them starting with disk 1 it numbers your songs like so
disk 1 song 1 = song number 101
disk 1 song 2 = song number 102
disk 2 song 3 = song number 203
disk 2 song 13 = song number 213

I want them imported just the other way. with disc first and song number next with a -

I won't buy Hoster unless I can import this way.

I'll print out the import section on the instructions.

Jerry,
I thought like you untill I used it. It is easier to key in a single song number say 203 rather than 2-03 it is easier for the singer also.

I've done over 2500 karaoke shows and this is my system. I have certain singers that sing 895-3, then thats the version he or she wants. Otherwise I may put up the wrong song version.

I'll stay with the numbers, I can type 24-15 faster than you can type "I Just Called To Say I Love You."

I have done over 2500 Karaoke Shows and the old story of Old dog new tricks applies to me.

I can type 34-13 faster than you can type "I just called to say I love you "

Also a singer may want to sing only that version: 34-13. I hope after reading the manuel I can import by numbers, song title, and artist.

If so, I'm looking forward to using Hoster.

Sorry, just trying to be helpful. I am just a user like you are. ANd it does have its own database that when it imports it fills in the artist, and title, brand etc. has drop down lists and I understand it is supposed to be coming out with a serch database feature. But dont hold me to that.

gduns,

I re read your post and I see the light. So If I imput the first disc it will label it 101, first disc frist song. Is that correct?

I already have the files in a cd+g format. Anyway I can import them with the files and not have to use my disc again.

yes that is the way the numbering works the last 2 digits are the track number.

You have to import them from a cdg disk. you select the mfg.... the disk number, and put in your disk number (the number you want it to be). it has a database and fills in the artist, song, duration etc. once this is done and it imports the tracks, then you never need the disk again.

When I was importing mine, I cleaned each disk before I imported them to make sure I got a clean read. I have close to 15,000 tracks on my computer right now.

I think the question everyone overlooked is can he convert the 10000 songs he already has on his hardrive to KMA, and the answer is NO, not at this time. I do not know what MTU's plans are for adding that feature but at present it can't be done.

As for numbering if you want the dash in your disk/track numbers and no leading zero's for the track portion you'll probably have to stick with your current songbook program, however when you type it in to hoster you'll have to leave off the dash and add a zero for track numbers 1-9
