steveloveday...

Did you just purchase MicroStudio to make your Back-Ups?

If so, your in the wrong FORUM...This FORUM is for MTU'S KAROAKE HOME PRODUCER SOFTWARE.

Before purchasing, did you read the System Requirements of the program?

Do you have a Listed PLEXTOR CD-RW?

steveloveday......SORRY your Creative cd-rw rw8435E
and a samsung dvd drive won't work and there is NO WAY to make them work. Copying CDG's is HARDWARE DEPENDENT.

YOU MUST GET A PLEXTOR, MTU SELLS "CERTIFIED PLEXTOR CD-RW's". By CERTIFIED, MTU means that they have personally TESTED THE PLEXTOR CD-RW THEY SELL and they GUARANTEE it will work PROPERLY.

Also, you must us a VERY HIGH GRADE OF CD-R MEDIA, of course the VERY BEST IS THE SILVER CD-R'S THAT MTU SELLS.

Suggest you only use in this ORDER:

1. MTU SILVER
2. TDK
3. SONY
4. FUJI

ANY OTHER BRANDS, YOUR ON YOUR OWN AND "EXPECT" POOR QUALITY CDG'S.

REMEMBER, ALL CD-R MEDIA 'IS NOT CREATED EQUAL" YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

************************************************
ADDITIONAL: PLEXTOR CD-RW "CAN NOT COPY CDG'S THAT CONTAIN THE 'MEDIA CLOQ' COPY PROTECTION."

THERE ARE ONLY ABOUT 3 OF 4 CD-RW'S THAT CAN SO THIS, THEY ARE OLDER UNITS AND YOU MUST USE SOFTWARE THAT CAN EXTRACT THE TRACKS AS SECTOR NUMBERS.

kjzone is correct...

There is no way we can overcome a hardware deficiency with software. You must have a CDR drive that will read and write the CDG format.

Copying CD+G Disks

Just adding my 2 cents worth here.
If you're compiling your own CD+G disks from existing CD+G's
For example track 1 from disk 1 track 5 from disk 2 etc then the guys are right in what they are saying you need a plextor.

However if you just need to make an exact copy of an original disk for backup then you can use CloneCD 4 it works everytime and yes without a plextor.

I've used a Pioneer A104 DVD-R in CD Mode
and a Sony DRU-120A DVD+R in CD Mode both work fine
