Question Problem with the graphics on burned copies

Hi everyone, my father and I have been searching through the threads here in search of the answer to our problem, but we have either overlooked it or it's not there. We have the new version microstudio 2.4 and bought a new karaoke/cd burner about a month ago which is a Yamaha CRW3200E and we're running it off of Windows XP. The problem is after the CD is successfully burned, it doesn't play back clear on the graphics. They're completely distorted and unreadable, however the quality of the audio is fine. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Couple of questions.

Does the Yamaha play a cdg directly from the drive without any problems?

Do the tracks in question play in Microstudio without any problems ?

What version of DIRECTX do you have installed on the p.c?
This needs to be 8.1 or better. To check it out, click start, run, and in the dialog box type DXDIAG and click OK. Near the bottom of the first page that pops up it will tell you which version of DIRECTX
you have.

If not 8.1 or better, go to the Microsoft website and download the latest version recommended for your operating system.

You may then have to go to the Yamaha site and download any updated drivers for your burner model. The ones packaged with the burner are not necessarily the latest, depending on how long the burner has been on a shelf, etc.

Hope this helps. If not, at least support will know that's all been taken care of.

Take care,
George

smc1ach1an,

Here is a link for you to check out, it is the listing of all supported CDR's, and I did not find your Yamaha crw3200 on the supported list, here is your link:

http://www.mtu.com/support/cdr-ide-drives.htm

To be perfectly Honest, the best burners for backing up CD+G's is the Plextor burners.

here is a thread about the Yamaha 2200, you need to read the reply from Admin in this thread:

Here is a thread I found about the 3200, you need to again read the reply from mtusupport:

Yamaha drive is at fault...

smc1ach1an, this is the typical problem that Yamaha CDR drives create. The solution is to replace your drive. It never ceases to amaze me how we try to warn everyone that they WILL HAVE PROBLEMS without a CDG Certified CDR drive. That is why MTU tests and sells these drives. It simply is not worth trying to diagnose a bad drive, and then find out it is a bad drive.
