Re: Rebuild Database

Do you mean the Initializing Book Ids message when you start ?

That is just building the book id list in the Add Singers & Songs section. It was put in to show progress as users thought Hoster had locked up when nothing showed.
If you click on the Book Id button and change it to Brand then it will flash by quickly hardly noticeable the next time you start but if you use the Book id in the Add singers and songs section then it will build the list as soon as you change Brand back to Book Id.
If you don't use Book ids leave it set to Brand.

Re: Rebuild Database

I don't know if it is anything to do with your version of Hoster 5.010 with your version of Windows.

It shouldn't be doing that.

How long has it been like this ?
Has it only been since using Windows 8.1 ?

Re: Rebuild Database

It usually does that if it can't find the songs.mdb in your Hoster data folder.
When you see this happen do you just cancel it or let it complete ?
If you always cancel that may be the problem.

If you open the rebuild database dialog What is the folder path showing for the database ? it should be C:\ProgramData\mtu.com\Hoster\songs.mdb
As shown in my attachment.
If that is correct go to that folder and check that the songs.mdb is in there.

Also does the left hand window list all your folders ? again as shown in my attachment.

Re: Rebuild Database

When you start Hoster and this rescanning message appears, do you cancel it or let it complete ?

If you cancel that might be your problem, I should let it complete, If it still does it after that open up the rebuild database dialog and choose rebuild there, then check if it's replaced the songs.mdb

Re: Rebuild Database

Are you looking in: C:\ProgramData\mtu.com\Hoster or C:\MTU\Hoster ?
The correct path is the first one.

Only thing I can suggest is re install it.
If you've already tried that then perhaps you need to put in a support ticket.

That's new to me, I think that's something to do with Microsoft Works, Did you at sometime use works to make a database ?

If you've already tried re installing with no luck try this.
Rename the Hoster Folder "HosterBKU" just for a backup in case you need to recover any files from it. Then re install Hoster, that should re install a new Hoster folder like starting from scratch.
