trouble upgrading

i have been a hoster fan for many years now. I have a problem now just trying to get onto the site with my laptop computer. I was trying to upgrade and when i get to the screen that say it is sending my information to mtu it just stops. i tried to got to my account and it tells me there is a problem with the certificate and do i want to go to the site any way i click on go to the site anyway and then it tells me the page will not display. what in gods name is wrong with this? i have tried it at least 20 times in various ways but i can not connect. i can go tothe the site easily. it is wired direct no router and it is a lenovo laptop all the updates have been done. i turned off the windows firewall i tried to turn off macafee but it wont let me do that. i tried to uninstall mcafee but it wont let me do that either. it just gives me a blank popup and does exactly nothing till i use the task bar left click to close the damned blank window. i have tried to uninstall macafee several times also. the thing that originaly started all this fooforah is hoster shut down on me in the middle of my show tonight it stopped running. it has been doing that a lot lately usualy just going very slow between songs sometimes stopping the video altogether then seemingly catching up and then running fine for seeral songs before doing it again. but tonight it simply would not restart i clicked on the program and it showed the little circle startup thing and then nothing i restarted the laptop and then clicked on hoster and still nothing i actually had to stop the show. when i got home i started the laptop and everything was sideways i mean everything i figured that out and corrected it and then hoster started normaly. but this inability to get to the hoster account is really a very bad thing. help? i just want hoster to stop hiccuping three or four times a night as it has been doing lately.

Re: trouble upgrading

Which version are you currently using ?

I just checked access to my own account and it connects OK so don't think the problem lies there.
Are you sure your using the correct email and password to log in ?
If you changed your email since first registering then you will need to enter your old email address to enter the accounts log in then change your email details when you get in.

The email you used to register Hoster has to stay the same as when it was first registered, trying to change this can cause problems.

When you say it just stops when sending the info to mtu, do you not get any other message ?

One thing might help try system restore to a time before the problem started.

Re: trouble upgrading

Regards to the McAfee site adviser.
I have noticed this keep showing for a lot more sites in recent days, I believe it is a McAfee problem you can disable the site advisor part without shutting McAfee down.

On your toolbars do you see a McAfee one just below the main menu bar ?
If so there should also be an X to the left of it just click that, tick the box for site advisor then disable.
Alternatively click the drop down arrow next to it and select options then select trusted sites and use the Add button to add the site to the trusted sites list.

Re: trouble upgrading

thanks roy as always you are mtu's most valuable asset. I think if it were not for your timley advice i would have ditched hoster altogether years ago. not that it isn't a great product but their tech support is less than adequate. ok here is an update i am finaly able to connect to hoster again. it was a router problem so as i have posted on a different thread. I bought a new upgrade and paid for it of course, on sunday. It took the money, told me the item was shipped, i downloaded it and then when i tried to install it guess what? It said my upgrade was expired. How is my upgrade expired when i just bought it? ok so it was sunday perhaps the server that updates the expiration dates is off on sundays? But wait, here it is monday at 627 pm EST. and I still can't install the upgrade. because the server still tells me that my upgrade has expired. This is extremely frustrating Roy. These people are software geniuses but they cant seem to get their servers to do a simply update on expiration dates even when you pay them to. Yes i am pissed. This has happened way too many times.I am not sure if you can do anything about it but someone has to give these folks a kick in the ass to get them to fix this problem for good.

Wow! I feel for you man. Something isn't right. Why don't you go to the MTU site and file a support ticket. They usually get back to you within 24 hours or so. Just a suggestion.
