changing file name

I was just wondering, if I change an original file name after the file has been imported into Hoster do I have to edit it in edit song or can I just rebuild db so the file shows up in my song book as I want? I know that it is not necessary to change the file name but I have done so anyway. Do I need to delete all songs and re-import so as to not have duplicates. Hope someone can help. Thank you.

Re: changing file name

If you edit the original file name you would have to re import it as Hoster would no longer see it.
It would be safest to delete it from the database via the Hoster edit dialog first before you change the original file name, if you have already changed the file name before deleting or deleted it via explorer, then it would be safest to rebuild the database, then re import the newly named file.

You can just re name the file in Hosters Edit dialog without altering, deleting or re importing the original file name.

Re: changing file name

Thax Roy, one thing I don't understand is that after I rename the original file I thought it would not play in Hoster but it works just fine even with a changed file name

Re: changing file name

If was already in your playlist it might, try renaming a file not already in your playlist. Then see if it loads.
