Duplicate Bookids Question

I did a rebuild on my data base. It said I have Duplicate Bookids Detected During DB Build. I have L:\Songs\LG017-13.kma.... 5 Times, and the same one on my laptop 2 Times. I went to L:\Songs\LG017-13.kma and only have it once on the desktop and once on the laptop. How do I handle this situation? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ernie

Re: Duplicate Bookids Question

Book Id is different to Disc ID, The LG017-13.kma could only show up in the L:\Songs directory once as windows won't allow the same file name to be created in the same folder.
But it could be you have an LG017-13 file in another folder, example C:/MTU/Songs or C:/MTU/kma or it could be listed as a kmh type.
You may find extra versions of these songs if you use windows own search by typing in LG017-13 and see if it finds other allocations for this file name then either delete them or use the "Exclude Folders" button in the rebuild dialog to stop Hoster indexing that folder.

Duplicate Book Id on the other hand as the start of your post states can be handled different. Try using the "Merge" button, you can read more about this in the manual, if you look about a 3rd of the way down the column in the left hand scrollable screen and find "Hoster Screen & Import Files" just below that is "Renumber book Id Dupes" click that and read more on using it there.

Also you may find more clues to these files if you look in C:/MTU/Hoster folder and find the file "MergeSongDBLog.txt" open it and see if it gives you any info in there.

Duplicate problems usually arrise from importing songs on different computers then copying data from one computer to another. best to always import on the one computer.
