Importing From Windows (non Cdg)
I have been using hoster for years but I am trying to import songs into my hoster. They are songs that I have purchased and are in my windows, they do not have lyrics which is fine I don't need them. I also have songverter so I can transfer them from wma to bin, zip, or wav whatever. I did try using hd index section and followed the instructions provided it said the track was imported but when I went into hoster and tryed to play the song, it will not play it shows the track title etc was imported but it shows 0 for duration of song and just gives me an error message. Please help I would really love to add these songs to my Hoster playlists.

Re: Importing From Windows (non Cdg)
Which version of Hoster are you using, you find this from the Help tab/about Hoster ?

Re: Importing From Windows (non Cdg)
I take it that these are wma audio files and that they are not DMA protected.
From the Import Songs tab select "Index Hard drive files" from here you have to decide if you want to use the .kmh or kma option, If you are unsure which to use you had best read the difference in the Manuel. I would select the KMH button on the top row, then press WMA for the Audio Type, then brows to the folder on your hard drive containing the files, once you see your wma files press the select button from then on it's much the same as when you import your disc's, you should see instructions in the left column. If this is how you have imported them but you are getting this zero time, with kmh type files, these have to remain in the same folder as the original .wma file, they have to remain in the folder in pairs with exactly the same file name except for the extension. An easier way of importing audio only files is from the Import Songs/Build databse option. From ther Audio type select WMA then use the Add Folder or Add Folder/Sub-foldes button then navigate to your folder and select it. This will add all the selected type files in that folder to the database.

Re: Importing From Windows (non Cdg)
Roy,
I just duplicated TONYBERNARDS findings (using unprotected (no DMR) .WMA files indexing to KMA) with a little more to add: The first song I selected and added to the playlist took 10 seconds (approx) to start playing after clicking the play button with no visulations displaying. I did not let the entire song play. I clicked the stop button then selected a second song. The second song I selected and added to the playlist locked Hoster (not responding) immediately after clicking on the play button. I followed your instructions (what is in the Manual) and indexed WMA to KMH. Everything worked perfectly including visulations. As I read the manual, although indexing WMA to KMA can be done and takes substantially more time (depending on the number of songs), could this be a Bug? The reason I bring it up... Remember the problem I had a month ago with Hoster stopping after 2 - 3hrs. I was using WMA's in the Background Audio then and since converted to MP3 and have not had a problem. Just a thought.

Re: Importing From Windows (non Cdg)
I just ripped an audio CD to wma through Windows media player as I did not have any wma files to try it.
I imported 3 of the files as .kma types and 3 as kmh types from the Import hard drive dialog and they all play perfect and display the correct times, I did not have visualization enabled. I then imported the rest of the wma files (11) using the easy option from the build database dialog and they all play perfect on my laptop.

Quote:
Sounds/confirms that I need to use sonverter on my WMA's (the bulk of my music files) and convert to MP3 as there may have been some corruption during the transfer files/settings process when I set this couputer up.
