503.09 Appears To Wipe Info From Playlist
I read with interest the 9/23 post (shagfever & Roy Dennis-thread has been closed so I couldn't reply there) regarding an empty playlist.
I have had this issue (running Vista 32 bit) and have a support ticket in to Admin. I created a new playlist and it did close and reopen as expected. However, when I started Hoster with the external drive not attached it wiped out the new playlist and each subsequent one opened. It will not give an unavaliable status. It wipes the information from the playlist. It does not delete the file but the size goes from example 324kb to 1kb). Yesterday (9/25) I upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium and retested the new playlist with the same results. Today I uninstalled Hoster (properly removed while online this morning) and have been unable to reinstall Hoster - (already installed on 2 computers error) Am currently waiting for a reset. chemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Here's the background: Summary of my 1st support ticket: I upgraded to the newest version 502.09 of Hoster on Sept 6th and have used it several times since then. On Sept 14th when I opened Hoster the playlist that was active when I closed Hoster the last time disappeared. The playlist name was still visible but there was no information shown. Each time I opened a playlist the screen would be blank. After opening the size went from (example) 354kb to 1 another went from 127kb to 1. I rebooted, copied the playlists from a backup location and the same thing happened. A virus scan showed no viruses. I checked the forum and knowledge base and found no references to this issue. I submitted my first support ticket on Sept 15th Vista changes have been made and system requirements are more than adequate. Summary of my 2nd support ticket: I installed 503.09 and still had the issue. It could be a Vista windows update issue but it seems to be affecting the Hoster program only. I duplicated the steps (removed the external drive and restarted Hoster)on my windows7 laptop and the playlist came up unavailable as it should. The issue with the Vista laptop is that the playlist loads blank and alters the .hst file to 1 kb. Each playlist loaded after that comes up blank and the file size changed to 1kb. Fortunately I have copies of the playlists as they are used for shows not Karaoke. Once Hoster is closed, the external drive connected, Hoster reopened the playlist (copied from the backup) will load. The problem is I do not know what causes the external drive issue. Really weird as the playlists are on the hard drive so something is happening way beyond my comprehension. I have a show Wed September 28th I have upgraded to Windows 7 and still have the issue. I plan to uninstall and reinstall 5.03 today. The Changes have been made to the system. Any ideas please.

Re: 503.09 Appears To Wipe Info From Playlist
When you upgraded to Windows 7 (on your Vista system?) was this an upgrade or a full reload? If not then some parts of Vista are still active.
Did you check your settings for Win 7 after you upgraded to make sure everything was still set right? Is your external drive a CD drive or a hard drive? Is there anything on this drive associated with Hoster? Since you have support tickets in they will be in a better position to help you than we would here in the forum. Until then be sure you have that external plugged in before you even turn the system on until this can be figured out.

Re: 503.09 Appears To Wipe Info From Playlist
It was an upgrade and I did check all settings. The external is a WD Passport. The only file on the external associated with Hoster is the songs folder where the kma files are located. The playlists are all on the C drive in the Hoster folder. c:\MTU\Hoster\Playlists.
FYI this first occurred while using 502.09 installed it on 9/6, this started on 9/14. The program was used several times before this started..maked me think a windows update was involved. Still waiting for a reset from MTU to reinstall. Thanks.

Re: 503.09 Appears To Wipe Info From Playlist
We can only try things.
I think your problem may be related to the database being incomplete. I take it now you are using 5.03, once you've used 5.03 it alters your database so the same database (Songs.mdb) can't be used in Hoster earlier versions. If you want to go back to an earlier version you would have to delete your songs.mdb then rebuild the database after opening the earlier version. From the top header menu select ImportFiles, in the next dialog select buildDatabase, in the next dialog, in the bottom left window should be a list of all your folders that contain your songs, in your case they should be showing your external drive locations as that is where you say your music is stored. Are all the locations listed there ? If their not or some are missing use the "Add Folder or Add folder/Subfolders" button and navigate to the folders that contain them, make sure you see all the files listed then press select. You must have your external drive connected while doing this. If you've done this correct you should see it indexing all the files in these folders. If all the files are listed in this window and you don't need to add any, click on one to highlight it and you should see the content of each folder in the right hand window. While a folder is highlighted click the "Rescan" button which again should add any files it to the database. Do this to each folder. Close Hoster, restart and see if it retains the info, if not post back. After doing all this you may find your singers lists have disappeared, you can get these back by either pasting a copy of your singers.mbd into your C:/MTU/Hoster folder or delete the existing Singers.mdb and rename the Singers_backup.mdb to singers.mdb. Hope you can understand all this and that it gets you going. Best of luck ![]() ![]()

Re: 503.09 Appears To Wipe Info From Playlist
Believe me, I do understand this. In fact, Under Vista I did rerun the database on just a small folder, created a playlist and had the same issue.
Upgraded to Windows 7 uninstalled Hoster (it was removed while online) and when I tried to reinstall got the already installed on 2 computers. That's why I need a reset.

Sorry can't help with the reset, I'm only a user like yourself.
Did you get the Auto responce back ? I should keep checking your account and trying it.

Re: 503.09 Appears To Wipe Info From Playlist
When I asked did you get an auto responce back, I mean did you get a ticket # showing that they received your ticket, you should receive this almost right away, If not check your spam email or make sure you entered your correct email address.

Re: 503.09 Appears To Wipe Info From Playlist
I did & have checked spam...even went to my email server to check that spam (I use Outlook so some spam stays on thewebmail) no emails from MTU but I downloaded the tickets from the suppport website. That's how I've been checking the status.

Re: 503.09 Appears To Wipe Info From Playlist
502.09
Also, I must make a correction. I did a search on my Webmail and had no emails from MTU. I just went back and ran through the spam line by line and did find 2 responses (I have seen the responses by looking at the tickets) So they did send an auto response. Why all of a sudden they went to the spam is beyond me. Yahoo search apparently does not searech spam. My apologies for that inaccuracy.
