5.02/Tempo
What is going on with you beta testers and tempo? I thought it was being tested weeks ago. I also thought there was some conversation that it may be introduced with version 5.02? What happened? Any update on this?

Be patient, it's not an easy task, and this feature will not work nicely with SYNC, so alot of engineering and code writing will need to done prior to anybody seeing the beta that will include TEMPO... MTU is working on a couple of other programs right now ( KHPro, Keyrite, etc. ) and YOU can be sure that they want to get TEMPO working with Hoster more than any of us! ![]()

Re: 5.02/Tempo
Tempo is a LARGE task remaining.
It severely interracts with Remove Silence, and we will disabled RS when Tempo is selected. It severely interracts with Live Sync, and we will disabled LS when Tempo is selected, or if LS is already active on the playing song, the Tempo slider will be disabled. Tempo is currently scheduled to be attempted again in Hoster 5.10, which is the first release we will add NEW features in. We have been trying to remove bugs (i.e. 5.02, maybe 5.03...) Hoster. HOWEVER... I have no start date on Hoster 5.10 development, and I won't promise Tempo will be added. It is conflicting with out core CDG Lyrics rendering code, which will need to be substantially rewritten to have Tempo change the Lyrics drawing and highlighting speed to match the tempo changed audio. We have the audio tempo change code working well, but not changing the lyrics. |

![]() Well,
I'm Done!! Every other Karaoke Software out there I've ever browsed can do this. This was stringing me along for years.I don't really understand why it wasn't just put into a separate program such as keywrite or khpro so as not to be such a beast for Hoster. If there is such a limited market for this feature why is it in every other software?? I'm sorry but this is just more of the bad business practice known as over promise and under-deliver.And As I've stated before this feature was presented as coming attration in 2008 I am nothing less than patient but 3 years is absolutely ridiculous. Good Luck To the rest of You. Chuck |

I have two other programs that have tempo and they work fine. Now in fairness to MTU the programs I have work great but they don't have many of the features that Hoster has. If it wasn't for the remove silence I would not be using Hoster anymore. MTU seems to base there features on a popularity contest, i.e. the voting for features. I think the world of them but they do dangle that carrot I believe to keep some the waivering supporters on board. That get old after a while. I for one do not use many of the features that Hoster has. I don't run an audience monitor so I am not worried about the snd feature that seems to worry many in terms of being able to highlight the next song to play. I am not interested in runnign videos. I am interested in running a karaoke show and I don't need video backrounds. I understand that some karaoke songs are now dvde and video is just the lyrics. Admin just annouced that there are features that will have to be disabled in order to run tempo. I don't see tempo being offered for quite sometime and presently it looks like it is going to be a sacrifice for some if we get it. If definitely is going to be a case where we will be paying for and upgrade to get this feature after many have paid several upgrades while waiting. Please don't pacify us by saying that it won't be released until it is right. Many release of Hoster have been released before it was right that's why all the many bug issues. I feel the frustration that this user is feeling. I don't mean to put MTU down. I am located in North Central Florida and I have only come across a couple of people that use Hoster. One was just a couple of nights ago and he admitted that he doesn't use many of the features that are presently offered in Hoster and he also admitted that he doesn't khnow how to use them and isn't interested in them anyway. He just wants to run a basic karaoke show with a program that is pretty reliable. If I was interesed in video backrounds and such, I would still be using laser disks and vcd disk. You know that MTU has releaed programs that weren't working properly. I am not saying this was done on purpose, just responding to your statement. I know I am probably not winning any points here but felt that I had to respond to this post. By the way, I have had request to speed up or slow down songs. Not a tremendous amount of request but some. I use to tell my singers it was being worked on and was coming. Now I tell them I don't if it will ever be available with this program. If all the songs out there were at the proper tempo or people didn't want to change the original tempo there wouldn't be a need for tempo. If it wasn't a desired feature why are so many offering it now? Even some harware machines are offering it. Walt |

Re: 5.02/Tempo
Honestly, I get it asked for quite a bit. Usually to slow the song down. Sent a PM re the rest.

Re: 5.02/Tempo
I get it quite a bit, too, as Lonny does, I just say, "Not yet, but some day." My DJ program actually does it quite well too, but I never use the DJ program for karaoke. Th DJ program can place a song at any point in the song, back it up, move it forward, words always stay in sync, can be paused, etc.

Re: 5.02/Tempo
Me too, I get it quite a bit, too. But what can I do, been waiting for this feaures for years now. I just need to run basic karaoke show with no problem. Don't need those extra feautures that slow down my show (Hung ups, Crashes and other things). I have hoster 4.32 but still use hoster 3.321 in show computer because to me it's more realiable version. Will not upgrade till tempo is included.

Re: 5.02/Tempo
As to Tempo, I'm listening to you all...
As to reliability, a LOT of our crashing issues are related to Vista, Win7 and 32/64 bit support. That "stuff' didn't add any new functions, but does allow Hoster to run on these new Windows OS's. IN the past 3 months, we have spent about 8 man-weeks of time upgrading our Microsoft DevStudio and SDKs (Software Development Kits) to work with the latest DirectX, WMF (used to be WMP), and other "plug-ins" to DevStudio. It has only created more bugs to track down, and has not fixed anything yet. ![]() |
