Importing KMA to Hoster from an external HD

I would want to have all my songs in one format. What I need to do to import KMA (mp3+g converted to kMA using Songverter) to Hoster?

Thank you

Re: Importing KMA to Hoster from an external HD

Is ADD FOLDER to Database the solution to this?

What would be the use ofconverting MP3+G to KMA if I dont know to add them to Hoster?

Can I use the same folder and Hoster will recognize the new songs?

I'm asking because I dont want to mess up my music and then ask here for a solution

You can just leave them as they are and add them to the database as kmh files which basically leavees the original file in tact & add a small file which allows Hoster to add them to the search & books. Under import HD files.

Yes, the Tools/Songs database Add button will add these to the database and automatically number them, the only thing with this idea is you cant enter disc id or other info you may want, you would have to add any of this from the edit dialog after.
When you use the Add button that will add the extra folder to the rebuild list.

Another way is to convert the mp3+g files to bin files and use the Import hard drive option.

I take it you are against using the Kmh import option which will list all your files in the database but leave your mp3+g files in tacked with only minimul extra drive space.

Re: Importing KMA to Hoster from an external HD

Thanks for the response. I would leave them as they are, the problem is that you can't edit these songs from the >edit song feature from Hoster. When I try to do so Hoster answer is that the file is a read only.

I think that it would be perfect if you have the option to convert MP3+G into KMA that Hoster can read and edit leaving the original name that the MP3+G's have.

Another thing is that I am tired of friends asking about copies of my songs, it's annoying. My excuse is that Hoster has a format exclusive to it. I used to show them the folder with the KMA's but now people know that they can use MP3+G in any karaoke software.

First thing is if the files are "Read Only" that can be changed and should be. If they are imported as KMH, the only part of the file that is edited is the KMH file. Those need to not be Read Only. This can be changed in Windows Explorer. The MP3 and CDG file names are not changed.
There is really no reason to import MP3+G as KMA as Hoster will not double compress any file and an MP3 file is already compressed. Additionally it eliminates having to have 2 duplicate copies of of each file. This was a request by users.
As far as your friends request, tell them the truth. It is not legal for you to make copies of those files for them.

And just leave it at that, they do not have to know any differently! I get other hosts asking me all the time to 'swap' libraries. Main reason for me (other than piracy issues) is why the Hell would I want ANY of my competion to have the songs I took the time to research and get for singers that ask? That's what gives me the edge over them and why they come back to sing at my shows. Never give anything you have, no further explanation needed~!
