Read from singer's disk while another singing?
When I try to read a song from a CDG to the 'temporary' file, if another singer is performing at the same time, the audio becomes garbled/choppy until disc access completes... I should be able to do that right? (I tried it on my desktop at home, and it seemed to work fine.) Are there settings on my laptop I should double-check (DMA, etc)? The laptop is a Dell Inspiron purchased from MTU, a few years back. Interestingly, the CD drive in my desktop is NOT MTU certified...

Re: Read from singer's disk while another singing?
thanks much -- kinda what I thought, I was hoping there was some setting or something to give the "Show module" a higher priority, let the disc reading be slow, but keep the song playing... It might be my imagination or feeble old memory, but I thought sure that I could load a cdg while playing a couple years ago... I stopped doing shows for a while, recently upgraded the software, and hit the road again. Whence I found I couldn't do it... I wonder if the newer versions are more taxing on the system or something?
MTU, any suggestions? Are your new laptops configured/powerful enough to do this? |
