title graphic display length
hi,
i have inserted a 10 second silent wav at the start of my song so i can add a graphic which will enable me to combine multiple lines of text (as the title page insert option only allows for a single line). the problem is that when i preview the graphic (which i have inserted via the 'view text entry window' option) the graphic starts to display, but disappears very quickly. how do i get the graphic to display for a set amount of time ie, until the song kicks in and the first page of lyrics appear? thanks in anticipation d |

Doris,
On the title page, between TRANSITION IN, and TRANSITION OUT there's a block where you can elect the length of time you wish the title page to display. Don't understand the one line text limitation in the text entry box, as you can use as many lines of text in the title page as the size of font will allow. If you add time to the beginning of a track that time is added to the .wav, which is not considered in the title page. You are simply adding to the length of time it takes for the music to start AFTER the title page clears and the lyrics page comes up. Very useful in the case of a song that the singer starts right in without any musical intro, and you wish to use a 10 second countdown. If you wish to have a page of text after the title page clears, you'll have to treat it as a lyrics page, and sweep it as such before the music starts. You could therefor have your graphic on the title page, holding for as long as you wish, and treat a text page as a lyrics page before the music starts, but the text page will have to be swept. Hope this helps, George |

hi george,
thanks for your reply. the single line text entry i am referring to is in the 'title' page option....not in the 'place graphic' option. the option here is only for a single line input, unlike in the 'edit graphics' page........unless i am mistaken? can you tell me otherwise? if this is so, then i do not need the silence at the start of a song, i could just use the lines of text i wish in the 'insert title' option. i will check this out. cheers |

Doris,
I think I just figured out how you're arriving at "single line entry", and can see why... If I'm wrong, forgive me. If you keep typing, it seems as though you can only enter one short line of viewable text, as the words just keep running off the page. This does not function like a regular word processor that automatically takes you to the next line when you reach the margin. As you see the line of text approaching the end of the view window you have to hit the enter key on the pc to go down to the next line. Using size 24 Arial font you can get eight lines of text on the title page. Size 36 Arial(which is the size I like for readability on small screen at a distance) will give you 5 lines. Hope this gets you going. George |

i tried this again in the 'karaoke song settings' 'title page', but everytime i hit return it takes me to a 'select bitmap' prompt. can you shed any light on this? |

Doris,
That prompt is cueing you to select any graphic you might want as a background on the title page, and should have nothing to do with entering text in the text entry box.. To enter text for lyrics you first have to click the curser into the text dialog box, then start typing. If you are getting that message when you hit enter to move down to another line, then somethings not right, and I don't have the foggiest idea what's happening. George |

What version of KPro?
Doris, George is right, but I suspect you are not running KPro 4.008.
Click your Help menu and the About.... command. This will tell you the version. KPro 4.008 replaced Karaoke Home Producer. If you don't have KPro 4.008, but have KHPro 3.100, go to our store and order the $15 upgrade. This will solve your problem. ![]() |
