importing a disc results in a black screen and a click

I recently replaced a computer and now when I attempt to import a disc and play it back, the result is a black screen and a repetitive click. I encountered this before when I imported cdg's via an external reader that didn't support cd g format. Can someone please confirm that I am again just using a reader that doesn't support cd g? Is there a program I can download to enable my computer"s cd drive that will enable it to recognize cd g? thx

There is no program that can turn a cd drive into a cdg drive. It's either built to read cdg's or it's not....... or we'd all be using it. MicroStudio and Hoster can "test" the drive. But even if the test says it can read cdg, it still may not. MTU also puts out a list of drives they have tested that you can look at to see if your drive is listed there.
