stop and play button both greyed out

i did a private show last night, ( just in time to try my new Mackie SRM 350v speakers )and i had Hoster on auto mode, had a few on the playlist, the singer decided not to continue singing, since she couldn't follow the the lyrics while being hilighted, and i noticed that both the stop and the play button are greyed out, and i couldn't stop the song playing, i had to wait for the song to end.when the song ended i switched to man. mode, clicked on the next song, stop button turned red and play button turned green, i havent noticed this before, since i never had someone quit at the mid. of a song. i was just wondering if those buttons are supposed to be greyed out on auto. mode..

Re: stop and play button both greyed out

Not the case on mine. In auto mode after pressing play my stop button goes red and the play button Grey's out until I press the the stop button. I can stop any song in mid play.

Roy.

Re: stop and play button both greyed out

You are not alone.
I had the same problem in Hoster 4.2. I had it while I was just messing around the house and during a show last Saturday. Had show running in auto mode, couldn't stop the song or switch to manual till the song ended.
I am running on a gateway laptop with XP and have not had this problem until 4.2. HELP!!

Don't know why this is happening to you so no way to give you a fix. Either no one else is having this problem or haven't reported anything. Only fix I can offer is to close Hoster and re-open it again, but this is not really practical.

Re: stop and play button both greyed out

You're right, that won't work very well. Besides, the worst you have to do is wait for the song to end then press the manual control and stop the show. (It doesn't seem to be a problem between songs in the manual mode. I have run several shows without noticing the problem as it only occurs if you need to stop a song in the middle. Hope that others notice this so the wizards at MTU can find it and fix it!

Re: stop and play button both greyed out

I have had this happen once in awhile. What I did was hit the PAUSE button then RESUME. When I did this, the stop button was then RED. Don't know why this is. Only started doing this when I upgraded to 4.2.

Re: stop and play button both greyed out

Thanks for the help! I guess I didn't try the pause button.... and I agree this just started with 4.2, I've been using Hoster for several years now and never had this before. I'll have to try that when it happens again. I have been trying to get it to occur again and of course no dice. Does anyone know of they know about it at MTU? (the Gurus that is!)

Chuck

that was not really what i was after when i first asked the question, the problem here was why was the stop/play button greyed out, while a song is playing. and i had to wait for the song to end ,for the stop button to turn red. and why would you hit the pause button then resume in order to stop the song..

Re: stop and play button both greyed out

Hey Billy
While the "fix" doesn't actually fix the problem, if it works ( I haven't had a chance to test this ) at least you don't have to wait for the song to end to continue your show. In my situation I had to wait till the song was over (it had just started) before I could actually stop the show. I ended up having to kill the sound in order to stop the song. I (like you) would like to see this fixed BUT if all I have to do is press the pause twice to get a stop button that works, at least it's a doable work around untill it can be fixed.

Re: stop and play button both greyed out

This is intermitent is why I don't think it is a Hoster problem per se. I tried to call Admin to day to talk to him but he wasn't available. I'll try again tomorrow and will see if they can look into it. However this will not get fixed until the next release so in the mean time keep the Pause work around in mind.
