Re: windows 7 64bit
Yes, Mtu now ships their own computer system with Windows 7. but you still need to check that it meets the minimum requirements. Mainly Dedicated video of 128 MB, not integrated and about 3mb Memory. As to 64 bit, Hoster is ok but as of this moment in time Microstudio can not write to drives in 64 bit. I believe this is going to be addressed in the next release.

Re: windows 7 64bit
I'm kinda holding off getting a new puter for my studio untill i know both Microstudio and Karaoke Home Producer will work on the 64 bit. My old XP compaq is still chugging along, but this thing is going on 6 years old, and i have played and written 1000's of CDG's on this old crate. i just recently installed my 3rd cd rom drive. Still will make a MS backup, and write a KHpro disc with the best of'em yet. Knock on wood...lol Without mtu products, life just isn't the same..hehehe

I will say though that Dell does offer the 32 bit version in their business computers even though Microsoft is pushing for them all to use the 64 bit instead. In fact they still offer XP too.

Re: windows 7 64bit
I recantly upgraded to Win 7 64 bit home premium edition without realizing that Microstudio will not work on it. If I knew this beforehand, I may not have upgraded, but guess what? My Microstudio is working just fine. I just burned a disc the other day, and it worked. I also realized that when I upgraded, they also gave me Internet Explorer 32 bit along with 64 bit, and I'm wondering if that's why Microstudio is working for me.

Re: windows 7 64bit
I don't think so as Internet Explorer has nothing to do with the write function of the disk drive.
You say you "upgraded." What did you upgrade from?

![]() I upgraded from Vista 64 bit Home Premium. I don't understand it either, but it's working for me. And by the way, I was eligible for the free upgrade because when I bought the computer Microsoft was releasing Win 7 shortly thereafter.

Re: windows 7 64bit
But Microstudio wasn't working on Vista 64 bit or for that matter on XP 64 bit either.
Sounds like some other program you have loaded has opened this up some way.

Re: windows 7 64bit
I sure don't understand cause I've burnt plenty of discs with Vista 64 before upgrading. It's always worked for me since I purchased this computer in Sept 09. Hey Dale, I don't know if I should talk about these other subjects on this thread, but since I have you here, maybe you can answer a couple of questions for me. When I originally purchased Hoster, I also got the Karaoke Suite 4 with the MTU computer. Unfortunately, someone stole my computer along with most of my other gear. I installed the programs into the MTU computer and another older underpowered computer which I couldn't use for karaoke, not realizing at the time that the programs could only be installed on 2 computers. I bought a computer off the shelf and upgraded with more memory, video card, and 2 Plextor drives because of turn around time with MTU. When I got it home I went to download the programs and that's when I found out I couldn't because I've already downloaded to 2 computers. I sent a request to MTU and explained the situation and asked them if they could release the programs for redownload and they said yes. They did release Hoster, and Microstudio, but not the other programs, (Vogone, KH Pro, and Keyrite). I wrote back to them and asked about the other programs, but I never got a reply back. I thought to myself, MTU was gracious enough to release the other 2 programs, and that's what I needed to run my shows with, and they were probably very busy at that time so I didn't write to them again, but it sure would be nice to get those programs back. what do you think I should do? Also one other thing. Since April 9th, I've downloaded karaoke into Hoster, and I've been getting a screen that says downloading incomplete, only 1 file has been downloaded. I checked it, and indeed it only downloaded the 1 file. Now it did download the bookid and names but no music or graphics. It made the KMH file, but no cdg or mp3 files. And of course since it imported the KMH file with all the info on it I couldn't go back and try to reimport the songs because it thinks it already imported them. Any ideas? By the way, I redownloaded Hoster to see if that clears up the problem but I haven't tested yet.
Also, just want to say Dale, you and a bunch of the others here are fantastic. You all give freely of your time to answer questions and problems that everyone has. I for one cannot lavish enough thanks and praise for the wonderful job that you do. I have benefitted from yours and others advice many times. Again, thank you very much. JRMerc |

When you import MP3+G Hoster creates the KMH (header file) from the MP3+G files on your hard drive. KMH is placed in the folder with the MP3+G. Hoster does not create a copy of the MP3 and CDG files as they already exist in the folder. Additionally Hoster adds that folder to the "Rebuild" list so next time you rebuild those will be included. In other words put all of your downloaded MP3+G files in one folder, then import them into Hoster. That folder has to remain as is and where it is for Hoster to work with those songs.

Re: windows 7 64bit
Hey Dale, yes I am downloading to a folder on my desktop called converted to mp3+g, then I convert them with mp3+g toolz, and import to Hoster. Once I'm done importing, I move the files to another folder called sent to Hoster and from there I do my backups to my external. I do this for a reason, and that is if anything goes wrong, (field separators, or anything else for that matter), I can go back to my converted to mp3+g folder and do corrections without having to look in thousands of songs to try to find the right file. I've been doing this since I first started with Hoster, and it's always worked like a charm. I just tested it after downloading Hoster again, and it worked partially. I got the same window stating it imported 1 file but I would say it imported almost 1/2 of the 84 songs I was trying to import from before. I believe it probably has to do with the KMH file along with DiscID, Track, Title, and Artist being there already. When I search for these songs, The title does show up and I can add it to the playlist, but when I hit play, it shows ERROR. As to the previous subject, trying to get the programs back. I haven't found the original email as of yet, hopefully I didn't delete it. It's probably in one of my other folders, or at least I hope so. Again, Thanx.

If that is the case you will need to delete them through Edit and then re-import them.

Re: windows 7 64bit
Hey Dale, so let me get this right, once I download to "convert to mp3+g folder" and import into Hoster they have to stay there? Or on the other hand download into convert to mp3+g folder, convert with mp3+g toolz, move it to "sent to Hoster folder" and import from there? That kind of takes away from the convenience of being able to search for a song that needs to be corrected from just a few files to trying to find the file from within thousands of files, but if that's the way it has to be, that's the way I have to do it. And as far as deleting them from the Edit utility, is there a way to possibly put a wild card into the search to get all files imported by date? That sure would make things easier to delete all the kmh files and the DiscID and so on.
By the way, I did find the email I sent to MTU requesting the release of the programs, and Doug Cox said he would release them and told me to download into my new rig, but only the Hoster and Microstudio worked. Thanx, JRMerc |

Re: windows 7 64bit

The way I have done it is I have a top folder (Hoster Songs) with sub-folders for CDG songs from disk (KMA files), Audio songs (MP3 rips of disks) and MP3G (KMH files + MP3 +CDG). That way I only have 3 folders listed. Quote:
And no there isn't any way within Edit Songs as the date imported is not in the header. You can look through the folder in Windows Explorer, sort by date, an dget all the KMH files together that you just created when you imported. Delete those and then Rebuild database that should get them out and you can re-import. That would explain it as Doug Cox does not work for them anymore and hasn't for quite a while. It probably got lost in the shuffle. Do as I said in my previous post.

Re: windows 7 64bit
Hey Dale, thanx for the info. And Doug Cox not being with the company sure explains alot. That's probably why I didn't get any answer on my follow up email since it was addressed to Doug. And actually, I only have the 2 folders. I don't use Hoster to play DJ music, only for karaoke. The first folder was where I'd download the zip files then convert and import. The 2nd folder is where I would put all the files after conversion and importing.

Re: windows 7 64bit
Thanks Admin, I know it's an old request, but like I said, after I didn't get a response back, I let it slide, figuring you were too busy tweaking the fantastic software we use to put on the "Greatest Shows On Earth". And since I did get Hoster and Microstudio, I could still run my shows. I just think it would be nice to have those programs back. I don't expect to get them free, but if I could get them as an upgrade, which I would've done anyway if I had the programs installed, that sure would be nice.

Dale, unless they put out a version since yesterday, khPro will not work on 64 BIT. At least this is what mtu wrote and told me. And they also informed me, it ain't gonna be none to soon before Microstudio is operating on 64 bit neither. ![]() |

Re: windows 7 64bit
Last I knew it was working on 64 bit because the only thing 64 bit was causing problems with was burning to a CD and KHPro doesn't do that.
I know that they are working on Microstudio right now to fix this. They are going to work on KHPro next but that is to change some capabilities and fix a couple bugs. That is straight from Admin 2 days ago.
