running hoster on what size laptrop & windows 7 ?

Hi to everybody,
I am running hoster on windows XP ( very succsesfully may i say) & i am wanting to know if hoster runs well with windows 7, also i want to put hoster to a laptop & wanting to know what size laptop will run hoster succsefullly without going over the top?.
I am currently running hoster 4.09 can i upgrade to hoster 4.20?, & does 4,20 allow me to import karaoke VCD tracks without all the hullabalu that we normally have to do with VCD's, so that they import as kma file & run straight through hoster.
Hope you understand what i am asking.
Thankyou
regards
svendsen

Re: running hoster on what size laptrop & windows 7 ?

I have recently bought a Windows 7 Laptop and running Hoster 4.20 with all functions enabled with ease. Mine is an Aspire 5738G, it does have 512 MB dedicated video memory with up to 2304mb available.
Obviously you have to follow all the recommended settings as laid out by MTU as with Vista or XP.
You can now import video files to Hoster but they are stored in a separate folder with their own header file .kmh file as are all new hard drive files.

If your video files are on VCD or DVD you first have to copy them to your hard drive before you can import them to Hoster.

You can always try the Demo.

Roy.

Roy should have mention that the videos once "imported" are listed in the search and can be added to the playlistr just like the rest of your files. The difference is the original file and the KMH header must be present on the computer hard drive.

Re: running hoster on what size laptrop & windows 7 ?

One other thing you might want to be aware of is, it seems all new laptops do not have the svideo out socket now. You have to purchase separately a VGA to video converter, I managed to pick one up of Ebay for £18. If you need more information on this there are other posts on this forum with advise on this.
