Upgrade To 4.11

I am using hoster 4.10 i am completly happy with it. Works like a charm for me, i don't really need or want the remove silence, or background music thing. I was just wondering, since i might be downloading the new Microstudio upgrade, i was wondering if there is anything on 4.11 i might want to upgrade for at the same time since i'm doing one, i might just as well do both computers. I read the changes between 4.10 & 4.11 and don't really see much difference but i would upgrade if you guys think i should? Thank you for your continued help. I am learning this stuff, but it takes a while.
Thanks George. A newbie

if you're happy with 4.10. you might wanna stay with it, 4.11 uses much comp. resources, but it does have some nice feature, ie. background music, remove silence and talkover (which only works with the background music), and also the garbled lyrics are fixed..but if you don't have use for it, like i said stay with what you got, Microstudio in my opinion didnt have that much of a diff.( i am having problems with it since i dowloded the new version )the only diff. that would be useful is you are now able to move the screen to an ext. monitor, that is only my opinion, it's up to you to decide...

I would say that for these two reasons alone I would upgrade.
  1. CHANGED (Version #2) Delete and Move Tracks In Playlist - You can now delete or move tracks in the Playlist while playing. Before, if you deleted or moved a track above the playing song, prior when the playing song finished, the second next track below would play instead of the next track. This is fixed.
  2. FIXED Hoster Would Crash Within 30-40 Seconds - There was a bug. If the Show Display Intermission View checkbox for Always On was disabled, within 30-40 seconds the Time fields in the SND would try to be incremented for the next minute (during Intermission only). Since the Intermission was disabled, the Time fields were missing and the code would crash. This is fixed.
Version 4.11 was a fix upgrade not an add more features upgrade. It is always best to look at the Support section for a program to find out the individual upgrade changes/fixes to see if it is worth doing for you.

I thought 4.10 and 4.11 were both about the same except for the things dale mentioned, and a couple bug fixes? I do like the idea of being able to delete a song while ones playing like we could do before. Is there really alot more resource usease between what i have now {4.10}and 4.11 even though i'm not using the features that actually use the resources? hummm didn't know that

No additional features so no additional resources.

Read the documented changes for 4.11 at: http://www.mtu.com/upgrades/hoster.htm#411.

There is a MAJOR new feature in that the Tools > Edit Songs dialog, Select Multiple now allows changing Brand, Title and Artist on multiple songs at the same time.

NNo more RAM is required than 4.10. As Dale pointed out, 4.11 is a "FIX" release plus the Edit Songs upgrade.
