Cool New Laptop

HI ALL, I am after a new laptop to run Hoster now and to include any future releases, the problem is getting a high spec laptop that has S-Video out has most now have DVi or HDMI, also Vista, XP will not see or use anymore than 2 gig of ram. As XP in now clinging on for its life surely MTU musy have to improve reliability for it's vista users.
Your thoughts please.

I am not sure where you got your information but XP and Vista both have a memory limit of 4GB for the 32 bit processor and 64GB for the 64bit processor. Laptops may have a 2GB limit but that is not the operating systems limit.
Unfortunately because everything is converting to Digital TV now the TV output on laptops and video cards is going to get to be a bit harder to work with. In the future we will all end up having to use an external RF amplifier that will take an HDMI input an allow either RCA, SVideo, HDMI or coax output.
Vista is going away to be replaced by Windows 7. That does not mean that MTU isn't still working to make sure Hoster works with Vista. The memory requirements for Vista didn't jump way up because of Hoster, but because of the Memeory required for Vista. Hopefully Windows 7 will bring this back down some.
If you are looking for a Laptop with XP I suggest you look at Dell in the Small Business section. They still offer an XP downgrade for those machines.

Dale,
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that XP will only see (utilize) 3 gB of Ram.

It uses 4, but you only see about 2.75. All programs are limited to 3GB

In a majority of systems you can see 3.2GB. Next time try Delloutlet, they have fine refurbished systems for reasonable prices..and a one year warranty. I just bought a Dell Latitude E5500 to replace my Dell Inspiron E1505. It came with the XP downgrade loaded with 4GB.
