Should the data bases not be the same? I can find to ryme or reason for this. Same files.. coppied the folder.. so now what I found I hope you dance.. same version but is number like 31802 or something some files are in the right spots like ol red 8813 and picture 10403.. but what happen to others?

How did you rebuild the database on the 2nd laptop? Add or Rebuild?
If you used Add it may have changed the numbers. If so try deleting all the KMA files, delete the Songs.mdb and Songs_backup.mdb files and re-copying the KMA files from the original again and open Hoster again. That should trigger it to rebuild the database again and fix it. If it doesn't automatically rebuild then use the Tools Rebuild and do it.

REBUILD at this point will only reflect the changes to the kma header that occured when you used ADD. The only way to undo this is to delete the changed kma's and bring in fresh copies of kma's from your other computer and use "Build Database" instead of add.
Not sure why using ADD caused this problem in the first place unless there's some issue with using it when no database exists for it to add to in the first place. Sam |

gotrich,
I have a possible reason for both situations. Did you have any KMAs on the C:\ drive to test your install? That, along with the add rebuild would cause this exact issue. What these guys are telling you is to start over. Do a computer wide search for .KMA and delete all files from all drives. Then delete the database, songs.mdb and its backup backup_songs.mdb. Then copy all the KMA files from your other computer again. These will have the correct header information for the song numbers on your other machine. They were not changed by the rebuild/add process. Then when you open Hoster it will automatically find the song # information stored in the header of the KMA files from youe other machine and match what you have on both machines.

i think when using the add button these merges all your kma files, that probably why you're getting all the duplicates

If you deleted the bucket.mdb you will have to copy that one back there. You can do this from machine 1.

i had to jim, for some reason if i do a rebuild some songs that i know i have won't show up " not in the database" but if i do add all the songs will come up..i am not really worried about the disc id's or duplicates it's good to have them ( duplicates )just incased if the song thats playing is not to my standard i can always pick onother, i rarely do my searched with it anyway, i always search for tittles and artist..
