4.04 is Wunderbar!

1706 Error received when upgrading one of my laptops. Continued as advised and all works great! Not a complaint, just thought you might want to know this still happens on occasion.

Noticed that the marquee is working much better in 4.04. You just have to love this program.

Wheeler,
Hoster 4 is one to love for sure, thanks MTU!

Let me ask you a question about the 1706 error you recieved. Did you see this error when you upgraded from an earlier version of Hoster 4 to 4.04?

This happens on my #2 test machine but not on my #1 test machine or my show machine. To avoid seeing the old 1706 error, I unistall the present version then install the latest upgrade.

If you research this error you will find that installing Microsoft programs can kick up the 1706. It's such a small, harmless bug that it has moved way down the list. You did the right thing.

Thanks for reporting!

Jim

I to had this error pop up as i did with the other version of 4.xx so as Jim has suggested I uninstalled the previous and installed the new and the install worked great. I have no complaints about the new 4.04 as it is almost flawless. Where all programs have thier little glitches I have failed to see any so far with the new 4.04 however I am not using VISTA (I REFUSE TO USE VISTA) so the problems that Vista users are incountering I may never see. 4.04 work exceptionally well on XP. Ran a 5 hour show just last night using 4.04 no problem it practically ran itself. NOW ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS COME UP WITH VOICE INPUT systems where you just say the name of the song and name of singer and it automatically puts it on the list NO MORE TYPING LOL this will never happen.

I did the upgrade option on both machines. One gave the error and the other did not. At any rate they are both working great.

I have been reading through the forums daily and I have noticed that some folks have video problems with their built in video cards. Maybe it is because I printed the manual and made all the Windows changes but I have never had a problem with the display or out of sync issues of any kind.

Just a thought for all those with issues. I know that some of you may not be able to do this, but I use my two laptops for Hoster only. I do not install any games and I keep them updated. I use AVG anti virus and I disable my wireless connection and shutdown my anti virus and any other background programs before I start a show. My main show computer has a Built in ATI Radeon express card and the processor is an Intel Celeron M at 1.6ghz. Ram shows to be 1.36 gb.

I believe that this shows that you can run hoster without a power house PC.

Great work folks.

Ditto! I have found that if you are using a laptop and video work as well, then an ATI video card is the choice.
