Song Book Problem

I'm having a problem creating a song book. In Hoster 34.exe, I click Songbook, Create Song Book opens, I click By Artist, I then clicked Print filtered contents using one selection below. I then clicked Use language and chose English, I then clicked Create..... Hoster box opened and said New Song Book created with 25476 entries. I only have about 18,000 English songs, but when I click View Song Book, it shows all songs (25476), not just English!!
Need Help!!

Thanks,
Ernie

Ernie have you tried doing it in 4.03 instead of 3.4? I don't think 3.4 has the complete filters in it. They should show on the right side with multiple choices. (I don't have my Hoster computers in front of me as we are on vacation.)

Dale,
In 4.03 I clicked SongBook, By Artist, Then went to Select Song Book Contents. When I left the Create Entire Songbook clicked, I got 25485..... If I click Create Pages using 'Exclude Checked Items' etc., and I only uncheck English I get 0. I appreciate your help, but you're on VACATION!!!!!

Thanks,
Ernie

Make sure none of the other catagories would override that. There is more than just Language in the Exclusion area.

Uncheck everything except for the other languages listed. That should give you a different total. If you select everything, then you are excluding to much and with all those restriction you will get 0 listed.

If you exlclude "genre" and/or "type" as a group you will effectively exclude everything.

I unchecked everything from GENRE down. I then checked all languages except ENGLISH.... I got 25481. I actually have just under 18000 english. I then checked english and unchecked SPANISH. It came up with 2. I have over 5000 Spanish. I then checked Spanish and unchecked UNKNOWN. My songs with vocals have been listed as unknown.... anyway, it came up with 2, and I know I have about 2000.............. I'm lost!! Any other Ideas???

Thanks,
Ernie

Ernie,
I know that with my system if I import new stuff, if I don't select a genre or language they will default as language = English and genre = Wedding.

So, if when you import your discs you didn't set these settings. However it doesn't sound like that is what happened to you. I get the feeling you had this all correct at one time and then all of a sudden it's gone. Could it be possible that you have a second songs.mdb file somewhere else that is still being seen by Hoster. When you do a build songs dB, do you have more than one path for Hoster to do a rebuild? If you do, maybe you selected the wrong one to rebuild. This could have happened some time back. It happened to me and I had to delete the old one to get it all correct.

I'm just saying.
Good luck!
Wally

I almost have this fixed. I went into edit then Select Multiple. I'm working in that. Actually, it's not as bad as I thought. You do have a good idea.... as soon as I'm done, which will be in about five minuetes, I'll check it out.

Thanks,
Ernie
