Hoster Locks

Hoster 4.03 locks up when I attempt to import hard drive files. The import window will not open, but icon for it appears at bottom of screen, but the import screen does not show. If i close the icon, Hoster works fine again. The import window for importing CD tracks works fine. Have all the custom updates, etc. I have re-loaded Hoster 4.03 (each time with a fresh download from MTU) and re-booted my computer twice. Running XP, 2gig memory

Is this an Upgrade or a full version you purchased.
If it is a full version then Remove Hoster again.
Delete the two folders C:\Program Files\Micro Technology Unlimited\Hoster and C:\MTU\Hoster.
Then reinstall.
If it is an upgrade then you will need to re-install the previous version first and then re-install 4.03.

The reason for this is it may be one of the files left when you just reinstall over itself that is causing the problem.

Did you include all the steps you took before it froze? Do you get to directory choice before it "locks up"?

The size of the directory will effect the time to open. If you have thousands of files in the directory & sub directories it will take quite some time for Hoster to read all the files. Also if you have the option checked to not display previously imported files, it also has to check all those files against that list. I can tell you, it can take what seems like an eternity when you are setting in front of it. Just click the button and go make a sandwich. It will come up in a couple of minutes, just be patient.

I have been getting this too and MTU has indicated that it is a bug to be fixed in 4.04.

hoster lock s up

Dale's suggestion, no luck. I tried Marllwood's suggestion, no luck. I figured it was proably a bug in the works somewhere. I have used Hoster for Many years without a glitch. this appears to be the first, but i have never had down time at or during a show since i first used it. In fact never had a problem before that was not self induced.Ill wait
