![]() Hello,
Yesterday the 6th August 08 i asked how i could transfer my KMA files to my new Hoster program on my new computor, i received a great reply and now know how to take them from my current Hoster, (this question is now going to sound stupid & you will certainly realize i am a bumb bunny ) but once i have all my KMA file is MTU folder, how do i transfer them to my new Hoster program on my other computor?, do i copy them into the C:\program files\ folder or what folder?, Sorry if i do seem silly, but just do not want to make any mistakes, as my Hoster has been running beautifully this past twelve months since having it, Thankyou, Kind regards svendsen ![]() |

First you can Reply in your current thread by hitting Reply button at top or bottom of the posts.
Are you going to use the external drive to keep your KMA files on and play them from in Hoster. This can be done if that is the way you want to do it and many do. This keeps your main hard drive from filling up and in case of a system crash will keep you from losing them. If not you do exactly the same thing you did before except you are copying from the external to your C: drive. To "add"them to your Hoster just build the database and add the folder on the external or internal drive where they are stored in the box by clicking Add Folder and then click rebuild button. This will add them all into the new Hoster location and will all play.

Re KMA Files,
Thankyou for replying to my post Dale Douglass,
I now understand how to take my files & put them to hoster in my new computor. (BUT) I have been importing my KMA files to my C:drive & playing them from my C:drive , i have been backing them up to my extenal drive. When i select my external drive in hoster my songs will not play, this is now suggesting to me that i have not backed them up correctly, am i right in thinking this, or perhaps i am not selecting my external drive in the right manner,i now certainly agree that it would be much wiser to play from my external, does this mean i need to import to the external drive to enable playing from that drive, & copying them to the c:drive. or do i not need to have them on my C:drive at all. I do have a very big C:drive & was not concered about the space, but will be fatel if i cannot play them from my external drive if need be. I will await your reply, Thankyou Reagards Patricis Svendsen |

Hi:
You have to select which folder you are going to use. If you use the C:(folder you use) You can not use the external and viceversa If you build your database using both folders you will have a mess because you are going to see that Hoster have duplicate songs. So use one at a time and don't include your backup drive/folder when you use the Tools menu > Songs Database command > Rebuild option. |

As stated above you can not have both locations in the database at the same time because Hoster will see them as duplicates and reject half of them.

You have to rebuild hoster database with both c: drive and external drive. You just have double the number of files in you database, but it will work.

This will work, but will make a big mess. You are better off selecting one drive or the other since they have the same files on them. ![]() ![]() Jim ![]()

yes, just did it on 4.02 and works. Why do you need both C: and external drive? Just wondering...
