Singers Database in 4.0

First of all I would like to say I love 4.01!

I decided to test it at home for a while and get used to it.
I loaded my own songs into the singers database 200+. Every time I click in or out of the singers database window, the window has to refresh which really slows down how I work. Is there a way to turn off the repaging of the list? I understand that when you switch between lists it has to refresh, but it seems kind of silly for an already loaded list to refresh on every click.

Thanks,
Travis

What do you mean by switching in or out of the database? Exactly what are you doing, clicking on, etc. Please detail each step you are doing because I don't see any refresh going on.

I start by clicking the "Singers" button. When the box loads, I select a singer from the drop-down list. All of my songs that I have added are listed. I have 100+ songs on this list. When I click the drop-down to select another singer, the program briefly freezes while it re-loads the list I was looking at. I then select the next singer and it loads their list.
Also, when I have a singers list open, if I click outside of the box to perform an action in the show, the program will freeze for a moment and reload the list before I can click anything. When I am done with the action, if I click back into the singers window, it will freeze and reload the list again.
By reload, I mean that you can see the Singers Database screen go white and the scroll bar go from long to short. During this time, nothing else will function.
I am running Windows XP with 2 gigs of ram.

Thanks,
Travis

I don't see the refresh when I move out or in the box on either of my computers. Only thing I can think of is it may have something to do with your video card memory or the computer memory. If there is not enough then Windows will use virtual memory to allow moving between window boxes which will cause the refresh of the window.

Is there a fix for this? I do have 2 Gigs of Ram, but is there a setting to change for virtual memory to correct the problem? Also, do you have a lot of songs on the list you are looking at?

No I don't have a lot of songs on any of my singers yet. Haven't had time to go back and add them yet. As far as I know there isn't any fix for this as it is in Windows control. When the lists get that long it is going to take time for it to refresh.

100+ songs is a big list for one singer. None of mine have gotten that big. Try keeping the list size to say 50 or less and see if it helps. MTU has "bigger fish to fry" right now but rest assured they will look into this when they get the time.

Excellent details. We'll try to duplicate the problem. We've not heard of this before, but at 100+ (or is it 200 ) songs under once Singer, there may be a limit we have not been aware of.

Have you done all your Windows Update by clicking the CUSTOM (not Express) button? If not, that could have a major effect on performance. Check it and post back here.
