Question Certified CD+G Burner in UK

I would of liked to of purchased the following :

Karaoke Suite 4
52x CD+G Certified Burner IDE Drive

But because I reside outside of the USA, in the UK, MTU will NOT ship any hardware and therefore cannot buy a Certified Burner.

I currently have a Yamaha drive, which is supported by Nero creating Backup Copies of CD+G Disks, but is NOT supported with the Microstudio 2.508 Demo, therefore I am assuming it is not going to work with the Full Later Version.

Does anyone know which drives are CERTIFIED by MTU for use with Microstudio, and can be purchased in the UK?

Hello fynotfi,
Most Plextor drives are recognized by MTU products.
I have a 40/12/40A, 24/10/40A and a 48/24/48A. all work excellently with MTU programmes.
They are sold in the UK, by various firms try www.ebuyer.co.uk it is a good one to check out, and reasonably cheap.
But if you want one cheaper check out the auction site, www.ebay.co.uk.
Check the MTU site to make sure that the drives are recognized first before you buy.
I have noticed that as MTU upgrade their products some of the older drives are being left out of their list of supported drives.
this also goes for some older operating systems not being able to run the latest programmes such as Hoster.
MTU, of course, only guarantee the ones they test themselves.
But stick to Plextor, I haven't bought one that didn't work.
Regards,
Garry

Thanks Garry for the update,

I can see 3 IDE Plextor drives available in the UK :

CD-RW 52r 52w 32rw Int IDE PREMIUM/T3
CD-RW 52r 52w 32rw Int IDE PREMIUM/T3B
CD-RW 52r 52w 24rw Int IDE PX-W5224TA/T3C

Are ALL 3 Certified by MTU? and is there any firmware level required?

Regards

Hello fynotfi,
If you go to the MTU site and click on karaoke products and then click on certified burners you will get the information you require.
As far as I can remember the 5224TA is recognized, but please bear in mind that if it didn't work you can;t blame MTU.
I've found all my drives have worked straight out of the box
All the ones I mentioned are certified and usually available on Ebay, even the older ones.
Its only the speed at which they read and burn that really differs.
between the various models.
When I have time I usually burn at a lower speed anyway.
This has always been a matter of comment in the forums.
Regards
Garry
