KMA file not found

I search for a song, it shows up on the list, when I select it, it lists the path to the song and says that it is not found. The path that it lists is actually from my home computer, external database, that I used to backup all the songs and then build the songbook at home to make corrections. Now it seems to be looking for that song in that database.

I am using Vista. The song is indeed on the harddrive in the correct folder and I have rebuilt the database to no avail. Most all other songs are fine, but a few are doing this. I even copied the filed and placed it in a folder on my desktop and tried to merge it and it said no files there or that it was alreaedy in the database.

Thanks in advance for your help!

missing kma file

My friend had the same problem even after rebuilding the database as you did. I suggested to him to just merge the kma files and this worked. Hope it will for you.

it is not a matter of file size, it is a matter if it not being found, I'd being looked for in the wrong place. It is in the correct folder but hoster is looking for it in another. We have merged kma files and rebuilt db to no avail.

Lost Kma Files

It seems Vista has created a lot of problems for Hoster users by "hiding" files.
I don't use Vista, but there has been a lot of post about "lost files" with Vista in these forums. Perhaps you should search the forum for Vista and related problems. It seems this was discussed just a short while ago and an answer was given. I just don't remember which post.
Sorry

One of these days I'm going to sit down and document all the quirks of Vista's compatibility files, for instance:Yesterday I transfered about 90 KMA's from my XP machine to the Vista machine, The path I moved them to was Computer/C/program files/Micro Tecnology Unlimited/Hoster/Merged KMA's. After merging I found that Window made a copy of each KMA and placed them in the compatibility file (actual path is: AppData/Local/Virtual Store/Program files/Micro Technology Unlimited/Hoster/Merged KMA's.
So now I've got 2 KMA for each song. If I delete a song using the edit screen in Hoster only the KMA from the compatibility file will be emoved. If I edit a song only the KMA in the compatibilty file will be changed.

Yours too is probably a compatibilty file issue.
