update store accts

Maybe in the future could you guys possibly update the store accounts before announcing the release of an new version of a product. It seems like it would save a lot of confusion and all the unnecessary entries in the forum about no links available for downloads of new versions the first 24-36 hours after a new version is announced. I know I have made entries in the past inquiring about a non-updated link on my account page in the first few hours after a new release. Don't know if it would be feasible to update accounts first before releasing product but it just seems things would flow more smoothly if it were done in that manner.

Would eliminate a lot of confusion as is currently happening with the release of Microstudio 3000 if along with the release announcement, clarifying whether the upgrade terms as defined in the POLICIES Page were applicable or not.

Mike, I hear you. However, before we ask our web master to manually run an SQL to update the download links database for the prior version to the new vesion, we must have the product available. Otherwise all links would be broken and we'd have a real mess!

Releasing Microstudio 3.000 on our site took me 4.5 hours. I left work at 8:30PM. Its incredibly hectic, and we did Hoster 3.312 the next day, which added even more confusion and workload. When I tried to contact our web master to do his part, he was out of town until the next day. It was unexpected and caused the extra delay.

Admin, I think what Mike is saying is don't announce the release on the web pages until the accounts are ready. Avoids confusion and frustration. And no one the wiser if there is a delay for some reason.

FYI: We can't update the free download links until the download file is activated behind the Store part number behind the links. Once we upgraded the links before the download file was activated and ALL EXISTING DOWNLOAD LINKS DISAPPEARED! We had to restore our web site back to a prior backup, loosing all orders from that point.

Unexpected stuff happens! Our web master was not available to run the SQL database script on our Unix server to update existing free download links.

Here's a novel idea... When unexpected problems hit... why don't existing customers getting a FREE upgrade wait patiently without complaining until everything gets ironed out? That doesn't slow us down, and allows us to ship the new product to new customers who pay for our free upgrade developments.

Or, here's another idea... We could just stop upgrading download links to deliver a FREE upgrade...

Isn't it interesting there are no THANK YOU posts for this free upgrade?
