One of the 2 problems is actually unrelated to the hoster program in function. The ATI video card that came with the rack computer works great with a computer monitor and regular A/V monitor. However this is a residential project not a professional gig this customer only has a Mitsubishi HDTV with either component or HDMI> I have already tried to convert the VGA over to Component using a Key Digital piece and it does work but of course overscans, and that wont work. So my first question is does anyone no of or is using a HDTV in their application and what video card did you use?

My 2nd question is probably customer related BUT the Foundation2 songs have just disappeared from the system. I really haven't had much time to study this problem yet but any help figuring this out would be greatly appreciated!

Did you just import the Foundation2 into Hoster or was it imported at the same time as the rest of the disc's. They could have been imported to another location on the computer. Did you search for them? I would do a build songs database if you havn't already done so.

lmcmains is right. Read in the Hoster manual about the filenames to search for.

KMA files don't disappear. If they have, your Windows "world" may be about to crash on you.

I see no one got around to answering YOUR FIRST QUESTION. Somehow, I saw the 1st question, because I started reading from the top first.

Yes, I hook to a 42" HDTV at one location.
1st, I use this:
GrandTec GEZ-1000 VGA to TV Converter

Even though I could go RCA OUT to RCA IN, I go RCA OUT of the Converter to RCA IN of an RF MODULATOR. Then, COAX OUT of the RF MODULATOR to COAX IN of the TV and set my RF MODULATOR and the TV to Channel 3.

I used to use an ATI 9600. Now, I use a MATROX P750.

But, since you stated that the HDTV you're needing to hook to doesn't have COAX or RCA, which I find hard to believe, but does have RGB (Component) inputs, I would check out this:

Thanks for all the help and suggestions! I think I maybe wasn't quite clear in descriptions.

In refrence to the missing song book I had no misconceptions that it somehow just up and decided to leave the HD. I am totally convinced that the missing song book is a direct result of the customers intervention.....grrrrr!

Regarding the Mitsubishi HDTV it mainly is a consumer TV problem as usual. Some mfg's for some unknown reason decide they want to be hardcore with the input resolution required and in this case it is exactly the problem. Since a computer uses the entire raster the output from the video card is going to be overscanned. That is where programs like PowerStrip come in handy, allowing me to set specific timings for the videocard. However in the case of the Mits. it does not want to see anything outside of a very specific input resolution. I was hoping that maybe someone here had encountered a similar problem and had a fix. I will get it just takes some investigation and time on my part!

Well after many hours of playing with the system I finally did get my customers system working correctly. I must point out that the display is a 73" Mitsubishi HDTV display. I have been in the pro A/V business for over 25years now and as technology changes it unfortunately has been getting more difficult. The biggest problem in this case is the computer VGA (analog RGB) and the consumer HDTVs 1080i component input aren't the same thing. I also had to convert the VGA to Component using a Key Digital converter .

Anyway I used a program called Power Strip

It is the key to what allowed me to resize the picture to fit and be accepted by the Mitsubishi TV. I think I used 720 x 480 and of course at this moment I don't remember the exact timings I ended up using. I also had to unlock the Taskbar (bottom) so that I could use the entire screen. I opened and positioned Hoster and and it fits perfectly. Well thanks for the help I received and hopefully this will be of help to someone with a similar problem. Of course the smartest thing to do is make sure you use a multisync monitor with a computer input!
