can't load CDG file from HD since upgrade to 3.3

It appears that I can no longer load CDG files from my hard drive since upgrading to 3.3 (at least not to an existing Book ID). The filename format I had previously been using was SC-2063-12-Song Title-Artist.cdg; I had the fields defined as Brand, DiskID, Track, Title, Artist (each separated by -). I would then select the Brand (Sound Choice), and the DiskID (SC-2063), type in the Book ID I'd already been using for this disk, Add Files, and all would be fine. Now when I do exactly this, it says that the Book ID is already in use - it also changes the brand to SC (which doesn't even exist) and the DiskID to 2063 (which also doesn't exist), then grays out those fields (if I were to change the BookID it would work fine, but why won't it let me use the existing BookID I've already used for this disk?). I've tried renaming the file to put Sound Choice at the beginning of it, but then it has a problem with a DiskID of "SC-2063" because of the dash in it. I've also tried defining the fields to start with DiskID, but then I have a couple of fields left over that seems to mess it up no matter what I put there. What file name do I need to give it in order for it to recognize an existing BookID? Also, I want the kma filenames to come out as SC-2063-12.kma (formatted like all of my other kma's). Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Unless I'm totally misreading your post I can't see how you ever got that to work in the first place
Based on the file name you posted here you are telling Hoster the brand is SC and the diskid is 2063 (you can't use a dash "-" as part of the diskid because it is a field separator.)
For "brand-diskid-track - title - artist.cdg" try "sound choice (or sound choice star)-sc2063-12 - title - artist.cdg.
Or alternatively "diskid-track - title - artist.cdg" try just "sc2063-12 - title - artist.cdg" . Hoster will fill in the brand associated with that diskid.

If you go to tools/edit songs and pull up a song off that bookid it should show you exactly how they were named previously.

Thanks, but I was looking at previous files and they are named exactly as I stated. I've loaded many files from the hard drive using this format in 3.2 without any problems. What I'll probably have to do is delete all of the files for that particular BookID that I've already loaded and load them all again. I'll try the format you suggested, but then my files (once they're converted to KMAs) wouldn't be named SC-2063-10.kma would they? That's definitely what they've previously been converted to. On a different note, maybe you can help with another import problem - I'm trying to load my first disk since upgrading, and only the first song shows up in the list to import... HELP!!!

One more piece of info on the CDG I'm trying to import - it IS a multi-session disk. However, I would still think it should show all tracks and import all but the last one (as it did in previous versions). Using Microstudio, I was able to copy all tracks to the hard drive and make a new (non multi-session) CD, and it imported all tracks just fine. I've never had to do this for anything but the last track before.

Deleting and reimporting that bookid would probably be the easiest/fastest solution. Although if you are up for a little experimentation, this worked for me about a year ago, albeit completely by accident. Move the kma's associated with that bookid to another folder, delete the songs.mdb (Hoster will probably auto rebuild it when you open the program), import your new kma's and then move the other kma's back to there original folder and rebuild the DB again.
Not recomended but I believe it will work.

In reference to all songs not showing up in the import list I've seen one or two other posts indicating this problem for some although I think after a couple of tries they did finally show. The only other thing I can suggest trying is to have the disk loaded in the drive before opening hoster. This has worked in the past with similiar problems.

Hope this helps

Sam

DiskID issue

I think the problem is that Hoster no longer allows a dash in the DiskID. All of my songs (whether loaded from CD or HD) have a dash in the DiskID (SC-2063, CB-3051, etc.). I was able to load the songs after deleting them, but had to change my DiskID to SC2063 - don't really like this solution since all of my files loaded from CD have a dash in them...
