Question Floppy disc?

Hey all. Me again. We're still trying to get Hostor to work right. lol nope. haven't given up yet. We had bought a new pcmcia soundcard and it worked for awhile, then about a week later teh dropouts came back. weirdness. but anyway, we uninstalled our older version of Hoster and attempted to install our upgraded version and it wont' install. We get to a screen that says "please insert a blank floppy in drive A" Wel... we don't have a floppy on our laptop. Tried to reinstall our older version, and it does teh same thing. Help? We don't have a floppy drive.

Re: Floppy disc?

I Believe that is the message you receive when you are not connected to the Internet when installing Hoster. You can connect to the Internet and have the message go away or get a Floppy Drive.

Re: Floppy disc?

Also make sure any Firewall hardware or software such as ZoneAlarm or Black Ice, are allowing Hoster to connect to the Internet. They will block it unless you approve Hoster to connect.

Question Re: Floppy disc?

Hmmmm. Yeah that's what I had thought too. I hooked up the laptop to the LAN and I still get the floppy message. It's weird because it never did that when we installed Hoster the first time and then when we upgraded it, it worked as well. But for some reason I'm getting the floppy thing this time. I checked the firewall settings and I have the windows firewall turned off. No third party firewalls are installed. Hmmmmmmmmmm. *thinks* Computers can be so stubborn sometimes you know? I mean it's not like they can read your mind or anything. lol
