Back up Karaoke Disk

I wonder if it is possiable to make a back up Karaoke disk
from my Hoister downloads. I have tried to import them to
Microstudio. All I get is screetching. I'm trying too avoid
downloading the files. Then going back and doining it all over
to make a back up disk. Thanks

Your HOSTER files are in a .KMA file format. These file can be backed up just like any other file. In fact you had better back up your .KMA files. A .KMA file can only be played in HOSTER . Microstudio only deals with .CDG files. If you want to backup a CD+G disc you must use Microstudio to copy the original CD+G to a directory on your computer and then burn your new CD+G from that directory using Microstudio. This is all done in the .CDG format.

I sent a E-Mail to Hoister and have not heard from
them. I have spent two weeks trying to figure this out
I could of spent all this time making my backups &
downloading to hoister. Also could you tell me what is
a good Compress Ratio? & is 64K slow & 192K Fast

I'll update the Microstudio 2.605 manual to say it won't process KMA files.

As to compression, most Hoster users run at 128Kb. The best thing is to try the same song at each compression ratio and determine the most compression (64Kb is the MOST compression, worst sound) you can enjoy listening to.

Then use Windows Explorer to see the file size differences. It may change your mind, depending on how much hard drive space you have. For The REcord, we would recommend 128Kb and buy a larger hard drive if you need one.

There are some audiophiles who run at 192Kb compression with multiple LARGE hard drives. Each to their own. As toolmakers, we try to meet everyone's needs.

I tried 96 & 128 i can not hear the dif. but i use 128 sounds great when i play trough my system. BOB
