Original country instrumental where???

Good evening folks, I'm back like I promise ( one a week, usually it will be very Sunday )

Well my first recorded karaoke masterpiece was great but however when I played, where I usually go out and sing, halfway of the song, the media stop playing. We tried once more but the same problem re-occurred.

I went back home and imported those songs on my HDD and play it with Microstudio and nothing was wrong. Could it be the karaoke player that need maintenance or it's my media?

I have recorded 4 songs on a Verbatim media, which is suppose to be good but I will go for Mitsui, ( I think that's what I was suggested in the past ).

Anyway, I recorded my songs @ 8x and the reading was 6x. Shall I record the songs at faster speed or lower???

By the way, I am not familiar about MIDI files but I need advice where to go to get the instrumental music as close as possible from the original recording so I can make great country masterpiece. ( Yeeeep! I'm country boy! ).

I know Sound Choice has Karaoke disc but with their copy protection, you can not even make a backup of there discs so forget about that one.

May I find it in the MIDI file format or another format?

Here a sample of the kind of country songs I like to sing: Watermelon Crawl or I'm From the country both from Tracy Byrd and this one: Remember When by Alan Jackson. Any ideas folks?

I shall read the reply in mid-week...

Take care everybody and my best regards!

Hello Denis
I've been singing "Remember When" for a few weeks
Of course nobody this side of the Atlantic has ever heard of it.
The Sound Choice recording is excellent and I can't detect any major difference from the original, but then I'm not a country boy.
I also sing "I Love this Bar", again Sound Choice, the same even down to the noisy bar sounds.
Tracy Bird's "Watermelon Crawl" I have on Star and its good.
I have never had any trouble copying any of the major manufacturer's discs to HDD or back as CDG's on a CD+R, not even Sound Choice.
I dabble with midi, it ain't easy.
You need a #1 sound card and speakers, and some software to convert midi to wav, and a programme for changing instrumental sounds.
www.audiotoolsdirect.com list all sorts of programmes for midi. wav. mp3 conversions and much, much more. lots of it is either shareware or freeware.
Edirol's "Virtual Sound Canvas" is a mighty programme for messing with midi. files.
There has been lenghty correspondence about this programme and I am sure GEORGE can direct you to the thread.
Regards from across the pond.
Garry

Denis,

There is a way of doing a back up of Sound Choice, it's the best recording on the market so why would you not enjoy their quality?

Microstudio will not allow for a direct copy but if you import first and than burn you'll be fine. They're is another software that will copy (back up) any cdg with multisession but the disk wont play in Microstudio after but it will on a home player.

MTU clearly said that they will not go over this protection!

regards

Hi Garry! glad to know you,

Well about Sound Choice dics, over here in Quebec, Canada their disc are expensive, that was I was told anyway, and MTU at one point in one of there manual brougt to our attention that Sound Choice those have CD protection on there disc but to discourage them of continuously using copy protection, to avoid buying it.

But I do not remember the name of that copy protection they are using...

I know and agree with you that Sound Choice those have the best original sound for karaoke.

Actually, I sing Mercury Blues by Alan jackson and it was made by Sound Choice, I can not tell the difference for the music part anyway between the original with the original singner and the music without it.

Of course when I sing that song boy! those folks at my bar does go wild on that one!

Beside Sound Choice, is there a place I can download identical music which can be the same as Sound Choice?

Thank you for you help Garry and my best regards to you!

Hello Mike,

Well, MTU in one of there manual brougt to our attention that Sound Choice do use copy protection on there karaoke disc to avoid owner of making backup from the original and in Gatineau . DJ's that bought them told me that they are expensive..

How much you pay for them Mike?

How many goods karaoke songs they do put on one dics?

Sometimes their is only one good song and you pay a lot for the disc to have that one song. Pretty expensive for one song?

About MIDI files & Sound canvas I will past on that since I am not a very good music editor and people I know who does a great job are too busy to show me how so I will past on that one...

Any good place that I can download similar karaoke music quality as Sound Choice?

Best regards to you Mike and keep on singning

Question Where to buy

Denis,

I buy my Sound Choice in Toronto because I'm there once a month so my favourite place is Laserland which has good prices.
They come on promo sometime for $30,00 but in general I pay around $40,00 CDN of course!

They do ship by courrier and they're very efficient, the web site is www.laserland.com The best thing is I get to listen to them before buying!!

I just purchase a disk that has Suite Madame Blue and as far as I know, sound Choice is the only one that has this song. I got another version from All Hits but what they did was cut & paste from the Styx version with terrible result!

This version sounds better than the styx version because todays equipment is superior than the ones use 25 years ago.

I also got a disk with Elton John's music and I can't find anything better from any other company.

Another good brand would be Chartbuster, check them out.

Have Fun,
Salut
