Can I install 4.11 on new computer with upgrade

I have been using version 3.321 of Holster and I love it, but I decided to upgrade to 4.11. My Desk top meets the requirements but my old lap top is not fast enough. I bought a new lap top also and now want to install the Holster on it so i can use it as my primary and keep the desk top as my back up. My problem is since I have 3.321 and the upgrade i am not quite sure how to do that or even if I will be able to. Because I have been helping a friend set his club up with Holster for his karaoke nights, I know the 4.11 lets you transfer to another computer but that is with the complete program and not the original earlier version plus the upgrade. Will I be able to install it on the new lap top and what is the procedure?

First thing is you must have the older version install on a computer before you can install the "Upgrade" 4.11.
If you have the 3.321 installed on the old laptop and the desktop you will be able to upgrade the desktop but the laptops will be a problem.
You will need to uninstall 3.321 from the old laptop, get the registration reset for the laptop, then install 3.321 on the new laptop. Then you will be able to upgrade it to 4.11.
To get the registration reset for the 3.321 you will need to submit a Support email ticket (from the main MTU website) and get MTU to reset it. This most likely will not happen until next week as they are out for Thanksgiving holidays.

Dale, can't he go ahead and install 4.11 on the old laptop, the un-install it to free up his registration? I thought I remembered Admin saying something about changes they made in the web app concerning registration to avoid this type of situation.

Possibly. I do know they were also working on getting where you could install the upgrades with the original registration codes, but don't know if that has been activated yet.
He could try installing it on the old laptop, then uninstall it and install it on the new one but I think he still has to install 3.321 on the new to install the upgrade. If that is the case then uninstalling from the old will not reset that registry code. If it doesn't work then put in a Support ticket.

Wink Still using 3.321 have not upgraded yet...hmmm

Should I upgrade after reading of some problems? I have used MTU for past 6 or so years, even left for a very short time for another program...but timing it with the singers was making my following mad. Love all the gadgets and video add in's it had, with regular song cross fader for filler songs. Hmmm, had to come back to hoster for good stability, about 2 years ago. Been back and never looked back.
Now, are all you guys telling me hoster has some gadgets with the new 4.XXX, and will it slow my show down? Also, can I upgrade free from the 3.321 to the 4.XXX. I have Dell Inspiron Centrino Duo, XP. Keeping my motto- "The evolution to Karaoke" www.whitefox.biz

The problems are under powered computer, video cards with the wrong drivers, and things like that. You don't say how much memory or what type of video card you have so no telling if you will have any problems with it. Some of the additions like visualizations do use a lot more resources, so you may not be able to use it depending on your computer.
No the upgrade from 3.321 is not free, however MTU does have a Christmas sale going on now. When you upgrade do not remove the 3.321 as it has to be on the computer to upgrade.

i am working on my friends laptop, she was having problem with the key change, but anyway i thought she saved the 4.11 download or any of the downloads, so i removed the 4.11 so i could re-install, the old version, and upgrade back to 4.11, if and whenever the key change problem is solved but anyway since she didnt have any of the old version i was unable to upgrade..i ended up doing a system restore to Oct. and she got her 4.08 version back..

Since you got the 4.08 back now you can reload (upgrade) 4.11.
