Hoster and Windows Service Pack 3

I recently installed Windows Service Pack 3 based on the recommendations read in Support and here in the Forum. Once I did that, I started getting line errors and I got no graphics when I played a song, after I got past the debug errors.

The music played fine but no graphics. I sent in a help ticket and was told to go to microsoft and download and install all the updates.

I completed that and it did resolve the line errors, and I do now at least see something in the graphics panel, but it just garbled colors like a snowy tv.

I did download and install the sis patch from Microsoft as part of the update.
Running XP Home, serv pack 3. Plenty of mem and disk space, trust me.

Any ideas?

My intermission jpg or bmp whatever it is shows fine as does the marquis and the singers at the bottom.

Thanks
Dave

Hey Dave,
Did you get Mindows Media Player 11?

Are you using Internet Explorer 7?

What verion of DirectX are you running?

Are you running Hoster 4.02?

As "One" says, try setting your Computer monitior resolution and your TV monitor resolution to the same setting. I use 1024X768.

Tryin' to help.

Right click on your decktop and select Proprties. Then select settings. Click on the picture of the montitor you want to change and set the resolution. Be sure to so this to both monitors and hit Apply.

You're probobly Okay here but here's how it's done.

1.Click Start, and then click Run.

2.

Type dxdiag, and then click OK.
3.
On the System tab, note the version of DirectX displayed on the DirectX Version line.
4.
On the DirectX Files tab, check the version information for each DirectX file.

5.

When you are finished checking file versions, click Exit.

9.0 is good! Since there is no second monitor hooked to your laptop, you will only be able to change the resolution on your computer monitor.

Have you upgraded your Video card drivers?

Are all of your songs doing this or just a few? Do you have more than one type (HDMP3, HDCDG)? If so have you tried all types just to make sure it isn't isolated to one format?

When I try songs from my hard drive in KMA format, or from a singers cd or an MP3-G from a different folder on my computer its all the same. A garbled screen with colors and some minor movement sometimes but like a snowy tv screen.

Resolution is set at 1028. Not using a tv. Just the laptop.

Helppppp

You have to have SP3. I hope it installed correctly. Down the road you can unistall/reinstall SP3 if nothing else works, last move.

Have you looked closely at your video drivers? Try unistalling/reinstalling them.

Setting Screen and singer resolution

Thanks to everyone who helped out on this issue. I ended up going to a driver file site and downloaded a replacement driver for my video adapter. I had some fun getting things to load and install but once it did complete sucessfully, I now have music and lyrics.
Now I can hardly wait to do the same for my real laptop that I use for my shows. This was just my backup unit that I install on before I mess up my gig machine.

Once again, thanks everyone...
Dave

Just for later reference, what graphics adapter was giving you fits?

Graphics driver

SiS Corp adapter is in my Acer 3000 Aspire laptop. When I upgraded to Service pack 3 it had problems.

Phew...it was making me nuts.
