It should be fine...don't see any reason why it wouldn't be...

It says dual monitor and has an s-video 7-pin outlet. I am currently using a nVidia 5200FX and it works great but my 5 year old computer is about ready to die. Time to fet a new one and the one I am looking at has the nVidia 8500 GT 1GB. Thanks for your input. I will post as soon as I get it.

Why not put your nVIdia 5200FX in your new machine? If you choose to buy the nVidia 8600GT I agree with Flip, it should work just fine. Jim ![]()

I wanted to keep the old coputer complete as a backup for my backup. I think it just has a bad power supply. It powers on and off randomly.

Replace the power supply. They are cheaper than a whole new computer.....unless you really really want a new one.

Why not replace the power supply in your "back up, back up" machine and get the new one as well. You can never have too many back ups in my opinion.

Lemme clarify something here, you asked if anyone has tried this card, and stated it has a TV out. Now, since you posted the message in the Hoster forum, I assumed you were asking if it will run Hoster well, to that question the answer is yes, it should have no problems running Hoster at all.
However, if you play alot of 3D-graphics intensive games, the answers is a less emphatic yes, as there are better choices. Of course if that is the case, and you don't like your results with this card [playing the high graphics games], you can always upgrade it later. So if the computer you are looking at meets all your specs for everything else, or you only plan on using it for Hoster and other 'trivial' tasks, then I would say go for it, as it will even play most games at a passable framerate. As to replacing the power supply to have a backup for your backup, as of right now you can only install Hoster on two machines, so this won't work well if your primary and secondary are unusable and you need to use the backup-backup in a hurry. I will remove Hoster if I buy another machine. I don't even have any games. It is a computer on eBay with an Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q6600 1066MHz 8MB, 4gb ram and 500gb hard drive and the rest of the bells and whistles for a good price. I am going to take mine apart, clean it and re-seat all the boards and hope it fixes the problem. I will also take note of what power supply it has and try to find one if it still fails, It's an HP but I think it has a common power supply.
