Not in the current plans

MicroCD is tied to Microeditor, which limits our market to those customers only. We have had 2 requests for adding CD-Text to MicroCD that I can recall. Given the low cost of the product, and the EXTREMELY low upgrade rate we have with existing customers - who only need to upgrade when they buy a new CDR drive - it is hard to justify the development expense.

We are working toward contacting past customers to see first if we can still reach them, then to see who is still using Microeditor. From there, we'll start taking the pulse of who is interested in what, and what they are willing to pay for it.

We will consider any development that pays for itself and our time.

You should consider doing this, provided that it will still meet Red Book. I have been getting numerous requests to be able to add text to CD masters which will be commercially replicated.

It is also a good thing in that it will likely get others interested in upgrading.

I've sent Bryan detailed email on what does not work in the version of MicroCD he recently sent, also. Several things from the previous version are broken, and the reliability has decreased, which is not good because until this test version, I really have not had problems and have made many masters for replication plants.

I, for one, would be willing to pay something reasonable for such an upgrade. You could also perhaps sell it with a subscription to get free updates for a period of time like a year for new CD drives as they come out.

Unhappy New 48x CDRW

I would be willing to pay a reasonable upgrade price if it means my new 48X Plextor would work with my new MicroCD.

....willing to pay.

I, for one, would be willing to pay for CD text and/or almost any other upgrades to MicroCD....I am going to continue using this program as long as it gives viable results in the marketplace. CD text and support for new burners will extend this life considerably.

....I would think that MTU's Karaoke experience would lend itself well to the understanding of CD text, among other things....

Well that's 3 of us so far willing to pay to upgrade it.
I hope MTU will consider doing so, it would be great
and like geezer says it seems well inline with what you
are doing with karaoke, too.

I use MicroCD all the time and rely on it, but am forced
to use an older version in order to do that, and older
burners, all Yamaha SCSI ones. My experience with
several diff IDE burners for CD mastering continues
not to be that good, SCSI seems much more rock solid
for this purpose.

I make masters for replication plants all the time
using it, and we get very solid feedback from the
replicators about the stuff, which winds up going
all over the world to plants.

So I'd think it'd be in everyone's interest to keep it updated
and alive.

Sad commentary on the status of MicroCD, etc.

Hopefully admin will pull the post above from a "registered user" that is clearly some fairly bizarre, forum trolling spam.

I am always a little saddened when I look at the posts above from 5 or 6 years ago, when it still seemed possible that MicroEditor was open to more development, maybe.....oh well....

Yeah, me too. I got the email about this reply too and took a look.

Same ol' same ol' here, have been using the UA powered plug ins
lately - sometimes even more than the Waves stuff. A second
UA board has allowed more of them to run when needed.

Their Precision series stuff is often handy. A very good de-esser
though I like the Waves ones too. The Neve EQs are also good.

Hope all's well with you!

Rich

Hey Rich

Yeah, still using Wavelab for all the editing/mastering chores, and still mixing on the big digital mixer most of the time.......Using the Waves 96k card on the DM2000, which I bought for the De-essers, but love the True Verb.

Only recent software revelation has been on the video front, where I stumbled into the world of Sony Vegas and was stunned at the quality/price ratio....haven't done anything with the audio side of it, but the video is so intuitive and does so much....

Getting ready to dust off and power up my 2 MTU workstations in order, at the very least, to get some files off of them. Hope the hard drives still spin up.....It's been something like 3 years at least since I plugged them in.....we'll see.

Probably do it next week as I work on other aspects of my new rooms above my wife's green products store.....I do keep bumping in to interesting phenomena in the worlds of converters and mastering.

Feel free to contact anytime off list: mudsmith@earthlink.net or call 304-261-9426.
