The problem with the Diplay is going to lead to the point that you need to upgrade your Video card drivers to make sure that they support DirectX 8.1. If it is an ATI card you can go to
www.ati.com for drivers. If it is an Nvidia brand card you can go to
www.nvidia.com for updated drivers.
This should fix the problem.
