Possible fix by changing the audio hardware accelleration.

Click START, RUN, type in DXDIAG, click OK.

When everything finishes loading open SOUND 1 tab at the top of the page.

There's a slider in the center or so of the page that opens.

Move the slider two notches to the left, and exit.

That shouldn't affect anything else, and might take care of the problem.

If it does disturb some other programs, go back in and move one notch back to the right.

If it doesn't cure the problem you can just put it back full to the right if you wish.
