The DirectX 9.0 is for the operating system. The Video and any other cards in the system don't have to support this for it to work. For software products to take advantage of the DX 9.0, the hardware drivers do have to support it. We are not worried about this yet. If the DX 9 is installed it will be fine, due to the fact that it has all the features that were in DX 8.1, which we require.

His problem seems to be that the drivers for his Nvidia Video card haven't been updated. (I believe) I have sent him the link to download his drivers from for his Video card. This should get him working. If not we will find out after he has done this.

The ASPI drivers only deal with Microstudio talking to the CD-R drives. These really only come into play during copying, as they don't usually give problems when playing from the CD-Rom, or at least not to the extent of the problems they cause when burning a disc.
