Odds are that if the last couple of songs are okay then the other 999 will be as well

If you are talking audio quality it will depend on what the kma's were ripped at. Since wma (the audio portion of a kma) is generally better quality than mp3, you'll have to stick to a higher bit rate for mp3 than what the kma was ripped at. IE: if the kma's were at 128 or less then mp3 at 192 will probably be compareable.
