I'm working on my friend's computer, using Windows 2000

Start, Settings, Control Panel
Folder Options
View
Disable "Hide file extensions etc...."
Apply, OK

This computer accesses the files this way:

"My Computer" Icon
Choose Drive and Folder
(I like View (List, Details))

Change names per previous instruction in this thread. (You might have to change property of file by right-clicking file, choosing properties then un-clicking the "read only" box)

Danny_g's last entry motivated me to make sure I knew at least one other windows version. I hope that xp and me aren't much different.
