Let's check this:
1. Go to My Computer.
2. Clink on Properties
3. Select Device Manager
4. Click on CD-Rom
5. Double click on the HP 8200 Drive
6. Go to the setting Tab.
7. Under Options.
Disconnect should be checked
Sync data transer should be checked
Auto Insert should be UN-CHECKED
DMA should be checked for IDE, (USB OR SCSI won't have a DMA)
ALSO THERE IS A FIRMWARE VERSION....WHAT IS IT?
