Think this is a good idea, or should I use the manufacturer dick number + song number from that disc?

I was kinda thinking about something like this...

For artists starting with the letter A, I could use A001 thru A999
For artists starting with the letter B, I could use B001 thru B999

My master list is going to be listed by artist, and then of course it can
be sorted by song for printing purposes.

Just curious if you guys think there would be some drawbacks down
the road to using this method or not.

Let me know what you guys are doing for numbering in case you
have a better system I might want to consider.
I don't see the point of making disc id with the first letter of their name although you can if you want.
You can already list them in order of artist or title, using the manufacturers id make it easier to reference back to it's original disc.
Not only that when you import using the installed database you need to enter the man u disk id, then it will fill in all the artist and titles for you.
Hoster uses an additional numbering system for printing a reference in the songbook should you choose to use it which works on numbers only no letters.

I say again try the demo then you will have a better understanding of how things work.

You can view some help videos on Youtube, Start with this part 1 importing CD+G tracks then go on to part 2 importing hard drive files.

Just looking back at your profile I see you first joined around 2007, I'm surprised you aren't more familiar with how Hoster works.
