Error Converting Audio - mp3+g to bin

Occasionally the mp3+g to bin conversion fails with a BadFileLog.txt. The most recent example is my purchase of Chartbuster 30168. There are 12 mp3+g tracks on the disc, only 7 will successfully convert to bin.

The BadFileLog.txt file always reports "There was an error converting the audio in:" followed by the filename. Can a newly purchased disc truly contain so many corrupted files, or is there something else I should be checking? Is there any way to diagnose what may be wrong with these files and/or repair them?

Songverter ver 1.31
Windows XP (all current updates)
lame_enc.dll ver 3.99.5 (from recommended link found in other forum posts)
