i haven't notice that, i know that it stays green when the bat. are new and red only when i turned it off, havent seen the green light dimmed ..yet

, i was told by audio technica support that you should always take the bat. out after using it, and you have to put the same pair of bat.back since bat. doesn't discharge/charge at the same rate.
