I have been using a cheap
Kam KWM 1920
19" Rackmountable Twin VHF Radio Microphones with individual microphone volume control for about a year now, each microphone uses 2 AA batteries which I reckon I can get 3 x 4 hour shows out off. They also do a UHF model slightly dearer.
I am well pleased with these myself and I would not want to spend too much when they are mostly used in bars
