The ProSavage Video Card uses a S3 chipset and it’s usually embedded in the motherboard.

The S3 chipset has always been very iffy. It has a bad reputation for "blanking" and more often than not you have to turn off harware accelaration to get it to work semi-reliable.

Most drivers for S3 based card are flaky at best.

VIA Technology make a series of cards using this chip.
